  • Patent number: 5768944
Abstract: A shift device includes a shift lever with an operating knob provided on the top thereof, a gate plate that defines shift patterns for an automatic shift mode and a manual shift mode, and a first rotational center shaft and a second rotational center shaft for allowing the shift lever to be rotated in a front-to-rear direction and in a right-to-left direction, respectively, in accordance with the shift pattern of the gate plate. The gate plate is disposed apart from the knob of the shift lever, with the rotational center shafts passing between the gate plate and the knob. The length of the shift lever can be reduced so as to achieve a short stroke and a large shift lever pivot angle.

  • Patent number: 5415056
Abstract: A shift control system for an automatic transmission, comprising a shift unit for selecting by manipulating a shift lever an automatic shift mode, in which a gear stage is determined on the basis of a running state of a vehicle, and a manual shift mode in which a gear state is determined from an output signal based on the manipulation.

  • Patent number: 4411479
Abstract: A double row angular contact ball bearing having a one-piece inner ring and a one-piece outer ring and containing therebetween a first row of a larger number of balls inserted in a maximum-type manner and a second row of a lesser number of balls inserted in a manner similar to the Conrad-type manner. The balls of each of the first and second rows are held by two separate cages. The raceway of the outer ring for the second row of balls is an angular contact raceway laterally open at one side, whereas the other raceway of the outer ring for the first row of balls is cut out from the bottom thereof in a substantially radially outward direction and then laterally toward an end face of the outer ring to form an inner cylinder bore surface. By such an arrangement, it is possible to insert a greater number of balls into the second row of balls than was the case in the prior art bearing of this type, resulting in increased load capacity, longer life, and improved reliability.
