  • Patent number: 11950049
Abstract: An acoustic reflector includes a reflection portion on which an elliptical reflection surface is formed, in which sound output from a speaker device that has an output position of the sound at or near one focal point on the elliptical reflection surface is reflected by the elliptical reflection surface, and the reflection portion has a size that reflects sound in a range of equal to or less than a nominal directional angle of the speaker device. As a result, because an outer shape of the reflection portion is formed to have a size in the range corresponding to the nominal directional angle of the speaker device, it is possible to reduce the size of the acoustic reflector.

  • Patent number: 5596561
Abstract: A loading device for a disc-shaped recording medium, such as an optical disc, includes a recording/reproducing unit, a loading member, a transport mechanism, a control mechanism and a chuck mechanism. The recording/reproducing unit has a rotating driving mechanism for rotationally driving the disc-shaped recording medium and a head for recording and/or reproducing information signals on or from the disc-shaped recording medium. The loading member is arranged facing the recording/reproducing unit on the chassis for movement along the chassis surface. The transport mechanism transports the disc-shaped recording medium introduced into the apparatus as far as the recording/reproducing unit. The control mechanism releases the disc transport operation by the transport mechanism by the loading member being moved on the chassis.

  • Patent number: 5022023
Abstract: When a large diameter disc is inserted into the disc drive, diameter sensing probes detect the large diameter and unlock movable disc guides and subsequently induce the guides to separate to levels wherein passage of the large diameter disc is facilitated. The guides are locked in a manner which prevents the same from returning to the positions suited for guiding small diameter discs until such time as the large diameter disc is unloaded from the device.Levers mounted in the drive respond to the diameter of the disc loaded and assume configurations relative to the diameter of the loaded disc. The levers are locked in a configuration suited for small discs until such time as a large disc is introduced. At this time the levers are unlocked. A locking mechanism senses the peripheral edge of the disc and hold the arrangement in a configuration suited for the larger diameter.

  • Patent number: 4794588
Abstract: An optical disk player wherein a chassis having an optical pickup, a disk table and the like mounted thereon is supported by a frame using elastic support means at a plurality of positions, a vessel filled with a viscous fluid and sealed is provided at either the frame or the chassis, and a movable member provided at the other of the two is arranged in the sealed viscous fluid. With this arrangement, the slope of the Q curve in the resonant region is moderate enough to improve the antivibration characteristics, thus substantially eliminating sound omissions.

  • Patent number: 4731777
Abstract: In an optical disk player according to this invention, a movable chassis mounted with an optical pickup, a turntable and the like is supported by springs joined with respective positions of a frame, and in this optical disk player, dampers are inserted between the frame and the movable chassis to absorb the energy of vibrations of the movable chassis. At the same time, a correcting means such as a coiled spring is so arranged as to be capable of changing the biasing force for biasing the movable chassis in a neutral condition with respect to the frame by adjustment operation. With the above arrangement, the slope of Q-value of the resonance region becomes moderate enough at the leading edge of the slope, and thus the vibration isolation characteristic is improved, so that sound omissions tend not to occur. The degradation of the vibration isolation characteristic of the damper that usually occurs on tilt of the chassis is effectively prevented.
