  • Publication number: 20080166259
Abstract: It is aimed at creating noble metal nanoparticles having novel shapes, sizes, and arrangements usable for catalysts, electrodes, and the like. Micelles made into rod-like shapes having semicylindrical cross-sections are formed on a carrier substrate in a self-creating manner and immobilized thereon; noble metal ions are added and diffused in the micelles to complex the micelles with noble metal ions; and a reducing agent is subsequently caused to act thereon to progress a reductive reaction of noble metal within the immobilized micelles as reaction fields, thereby growing single crystalline noble metal ultrathin-film nanoparticles on the carrier substrate by utilizing the fixed micelles having the shapes as templates, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20060160981
Abstract: A phenolic polymer nanotube having a specific shape is obtained by carrying out: a reaction step in which at least one monomer selected from a group of phenol and derivative thereof is reacted with at least one aldehyde monomer in the presence of basic condensing agent; a treatment step in which a precursor obtained in the reaction step is treated with a strong base; and a polymerization step in which a reacted precursor obtained in the treatment step is dropped into aqueous solution, containing the monomer and a surfactant, so as to polymerize the reacted precursor.

  • Publication number: 20050229744
Abstract: A nanotube of which basic skeleton is made of a noble metal element is provided. The skeleton of the nanotube is made of (1) a single noble metal element of gold (Au), silver (Ag), platinum (Pt), palladium (Pd), rhodium (Rh), or iridium (Ir) as noble metal elements, of (2) a mixture in which (Ru) is added to the above (1) in any proportion, or of (3) a mixture in which a base metal element is added to the above (1) or (2) in any proportion, and the noble metal nanotube has a tubular form of about 5-7 nm in outer diameter, about 2-4 nm in inner diameter, about 1-2 nm in thickness, and 10 nm or more in length.
