A posture sensor detects whether a posture of the apparatus main body is the landscape posture or the portrait posture, a mode switching unit switches a display mode between the search mode and the analysis mode on the basis of the posture of the apparatus main body and the association, and an information generation unit generates information for the search mode or information for the analysis mode, as information for the display mode. A display control unit displays the ultrasound image and the information for the display mode on the monitor. As a result, in a case where blood vessel puncture is performed, information necessary for blood vessel puncture is switched and displayed according to the posture of the apparatus main body.
