  • Publication number: 20110290613
Abstract: The present subject matter relates to clutch arm and release devices and methods such as for a variable speed transmission. A clutch linkage can include a control shaft pivotable about an axis, a substantially U-shaped arm connected at two points to the shaft, and a plurality of projections positioned on the arm. The arm can be moved between positions in response to rotational movement of the control shaft, and the projections can thereby engage and exert a force on a movable sleeve to move the sleeve, such as for causing a clutch bearing to move between an engaged and a disengaged position.

  • Patent number: 7159343
Abstract: A working machine has a transmission case having a transmission mechanism accommodated therein. The transmission mechanism has an input shaft having a first longitudinal axis and an output shaft having a second longitudinal axis extending in a direction generally perpendicular to the first longitudinal axis. A working unit is mounted to a front portion or a side portion of the transmission case and is connected to the output shaft of the transmission mechanism. A working is drive source is connected to the input shaft of the transmission mechanism for driving the working unit via the transmission mechanism for driving the working unit via the transmission mechanism. The working drive source is mounted to an upper surface portion of the transmission case. A traveling unit has at least one driving axle mounted to a side portion of the transmission case. An electric motor is mounted to a side portion of the transmission case for driving the traveling unit.

  • Publication number: 20040148819
Abstract: Transmission mechanism accommodated in a transmission case includes an input shaft extending upward to connect to a vertical engine and an output shaft extending horizontally to connect to a working unit. The engine is mounted on an upper surface portion of the transmission case, and the working unit, motors and axles of left and right traveling sections, such as crawler belts, are attached to the transmission case between the traveling sections. The working unit is vertically pivotable about the central axis of axles of the traveling sections. The driving wheels and motors are positioned adjacent to front end portions of an engine crankshaft positioned near and rearward of the central axis.

  • Patent number: 6524148
Abstract: In an outboard marine drive, an engine is supported on an engine mount case, and an under cover made of plastic material having a lower end attached to the engine mount case defines an open upper end which engages an open lower end of an engine cover also made of plastic material. A metallic stay member having a lower end fixedly attached to the engine mount case which is typically made of cast aluminum alloy and an upper end fixedly supporting a support rail reinforces the open upper end of the under cover. Thus, the essential part is reinforced by a metallic member, and the required mechanical strength can be achieved while minimizing the increase in weight. The upper end of the stay member may be used for attaching a latch unit for securing the engine cover to the under cover or the engine mount case.

  • Patent number: 6155363
Abstract: A crawler belt vehicle comprises a chassis, a pair of first wheels mounted on the chassis, a pair of second wheels mounted on the chassis, a pair of crawler belts each trained around the first pair of wheels and the second pair of wheels, and a pair of equalizers each for pressing one of the crawler belts against a ground. Each of the crawler belts has low-friction members spaced-apart from each other in a longitudinal direction of the crawler belt. Each of the equalizers has a leaf spring having a first end connected to the chassis and a second end opposite the first end, and a slider supported on the second end of the leaf spring for undergoing pivotal movement about an axis extending in the longitudinal direction of the crawler belt for pressing the crawler belt against the ground by the resiliency of the leaf spring.

  • Patent number: 5975226
Abstract: A crawler belt vehicle comprises a chassis having a first end portion and a second end portion, first wheels mounted on the first end portion of the chassis for rotation, a swing arm having a front end and a rear end mounted on the second end portion of the chassis for undergoing pivotal movement relative to the chassis about a first axis, driving shafts mounted for rotation about a second axis and connected to the front end of the swing arm for undergoing pivotal movement therewith, and second wheels are mounted on the driving shafts for rotation therewith. Beam members are connected to the front end of the swing arm for undergoing pivotal movement therewith. Wheel axles are mounted on the beam members for rotation about a third axis and for undergoing pivotal movement with the beam members. Third wheels are mounted on the wheel axles for rotation therewith and are disposed between the first wheels and the second wheels.

  • Patent number: 5617764
Abstract: A drive device for a power working vehicle has a transmission case for a hydrostatic pressure type continuously variable transmission which includes a hydraulic pump and a hydraulic motor, the case having a narrow portion and a wide portion with a step being formed on one side of the transmission case. The hydrostatic pressure type continuously variable transmission is mounted to the narrow portion, so that it is accommodated within the height of the step. A differential is provided at the wide portion for differentially operating left and right axles, and a reducing gear mechanism extends from the narrow portion to the wide portion for transmitting an output from the continuously variable transmission to the differential through a multi-stage reduction. Thus, the output from the continuously variable transmission can be transmitted to the left and right axles through a reduction at a plurality of stages, and the structure of the drive device for the power working vehicle may be made simpler and more compact.
