Patent number: 6388698Abstract: In an image recording apparatus provided with a recording head and a conveyor for relatively moving the recording head and an image recording medium, an image composed of a large number of pixels is recorded by plural recording elements of the recording head on the image recording medium relatively moved by the conveyor. Each recording element of the recording head is controlled to conduct turning on or off plural times (N times) so that one pixel is recorded by plural recording periods of each recording element, and a time length T(m) of each recording period is not increased monotonously or is not decreased monotonously with respect to recording sequential order “m” of each recording period in recording of each pixel, wherein “m” is an integer not less than 0 and not more than N−1. The time length of each recording period is obtained by adding one or two coefficients to a binary-weighted value.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 1998Date of Patent: May 14, 2002Assignee: Konica CorporationInventors: Takashi Deguchi, Toru Kawabe, Tuyosi Hattori

Patent number: 6295080Abstract: An image recording apparatus is provided with a recording head in which a plurality of light emitting sections are aligned along a single dotted line or plural dotted lines, and a shifting device for shifting photosensitive material relatively to the recording head so that an image is recorded on the photosensitive material with exposure light emitted by the light emitting sections while the photosensitive material is shifted relatively to the recording head. The recording head is controlled to conduct preliminary light emission to let the light emitting sections emit light before the image recording on the photosensitive material is started.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1998Date of Patent: September 25, 2001Assignee: Konica CorporationInventors: Takashi Deguchi, Tuyosi Hattori, Toru Kawabe

Patent number: 6198494Abstract: In a color image recording apparatus provided with plural print heads and a conveyor, each print head includes a plurality of recording elements aligned along at least a single line in a primary scanning direction and the plural print heads are arranged in parallel to each other in the primary scanning direction so that plural component images of the color image are formed parallel respectively by the plural print heads. A reference component image forming device controls the plural pieces of print heads so as to form and superimpose plural reference component images based on the reference component image data and timing setting values. A timing correcting unit analyzes positional deviations in the secondary scanning direction among the plural superimposed reference component images and corrects the timing setting values on the basis of the positional deviations in the secondary scanning direction.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1998Date of Patent: March 6, 2001Assignee: Konica CorporationInventors: Tsuyoshi Haraguchi, Takashi Deguchi, Tuyosi Hattori, Takashi Igarashi

Patent number: 6072596Abstract: When a digital image recording means records digital image on an image recording medium based on order information or on digital image data, a computing means calculates digital image layout information, and calculates, based on the digital image layout information, X-cut size information used for cutting the image recording medium in the direction perpendicular to the conveyance direction of the conveyance means and Y-cut size information used for cutting the image recording medium in the direction perpendicular to the cutting direction for the X-cut. A cutting means which cuts the image recording medium into a prescribed size has an X-cut means to cut the image recording medium in the direction perpendicular to the conveyance direction of the conveyance means in accordance with the X-cut size information and a Y-cut means to cut the image recording medium in the direction perpendicular to the cutting direction of the X-cut in accordance with the Y-cut size information.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1997Date of Patent: June 6, 2000Assignee: Konica CorporationInventors: Tuyosi Hattori, Toru Kawabe, Takashi Igarashi, Atsushi Suzuki, Tsuyoshi Haraguchi, Takashi Deguchi, Ken Okauchi
