Patent number: 11976969Abstract: Provided is a gyroscope stabilized gimbal assembly for collecting and timestamping video data and laser measurement data. The assembly can be used on multiple platforms and provides an ISR video camera system and one or more laser measurement devices, including photodetectors, thermopiles, filters, and analog to digital converters. The components are mounted to a bracket that can be installed and removed from the assembly to collect/record measurement data from the devices interacting with the laser beam. A processor collects and records measurement data from the devices interacting with the laser beam and calculates optical power data, irradiance data, and wavelength data. A storage device stores a first set of data comprising video data from said camera system and a second set of data comprising optical power data, irradiance data, and wavelength data, wherein said first and second set of data are timestamped, separated, and not comingled.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 2023Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignee: The United States of America, as Represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventors: Marshall A. Publication number: 20140312078Abstract: A closure that is constructed and arranged to be sealed to an opening in a flexible film pouch that has an interior. The closure includes a body that has a top, bottom, sides, front and back, wherein the body has a body through-channel with a bottom opening and a top opening, and wherein the body is elongated, such that its extent from front to back is greater than its extent from side to side. The closure has an upper member coupled to the top of the body, wherein the upper member has an upper member through-channel with a bottom opening and a top opening, where the upper member through-channel is contiguous with the body through-channel. The top of the body is bisected by a body longitudinal axis and has a latitudinal axis that bisects and is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, where a center of the body is defined by the intersection of the longitudinal and latitudinal axes. The upper member top opening (i.e., the outlet opening of the closure) is asymmetric about the center of the body.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 18, 2014Publication date: October 23, 2014Applicant: Perimeter Brand Packaging, LLCInventors: William Tyler Fitzsimmons, David G. Patent number: 5632374Abstract: A holder for temporarily storing and displaying compact discs has a front, a back and a disc-receiving base sloping downward from the back to the front. The disc-receiving base has molded pockets or slots for receiving and vertically supporting the compact discs. Each pocket has a lead-in for quick drop-off of a disc and for guiding it to a trough at the bottom. The trough contacts the flat sides of the disc but does not touch the information containing regions on the programmed side. Three bumps extend inward from the walls of the trough for orienting the disc at a rearward leaning angle to enhance visual identification and to prevent the discs from tilting forward and becoming dislodged. Effective disc orientation is achieved by providing a straight slot, with no bumps, that is molded at the desired angle of disc tilt or inclination. The pockets have openings that are wider than the thicknesses of standard compact discs.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 1995Date of Patent: May 27, 1997Assignee: Microplas, Inc.Inventors: Tyler Fitzsimmons, Steven E. Patent number: 5630504Abstract: A compact disc container uses a plastic tray, a paperboard which is mechanically locked to the tray, and a clasp to hold the paperboard cover closed. Corner sections of the tray have elongated openings along outer walls to receive tabs which are bent up at right angles from a base panel of the board. The tabs are then bent inward over ribs in the corner section, and arcuate inner surfaces of the tabs lie against outer surfaces of segmental walls in the tray. Retainers hold the arcuate surfaces of the tabs downward. The outside of the tabs may be printed with the outside of the base and the cover, since the outside surfaces of the tabs appear within the tray. A spline panel extends from the base panel to the cover. The cover has an outer panel and an inner panel which are printed before they are folded and bonded. A second page is folded from an inward end of the inner panel.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1996Date of Patent: May 20, 1997Inventors: W. Tyler Fitzsimmons, Anthony L. Gelardi

Patent number: 5515967Abstract: A plastic package for storing and selling at retail holds compact discs and accompanying 3.5" diskettes and literature. The container has two parts, a frame and a window. The frame, which is one molded piece, has a cover and a tray connected by a living hinge to form a book-like display. The tray has an opening in the base. Grippers positioned around the base retain a Jewel box inside the opening for external visual recognition. A hinged, foldable 3.5" diskette holder with a spring for securing multiple diskettes is connected by a second living hinge to the bottom wall of the tray. In an inward position, the holder extends along the base below the opening. A flap hinged to the base between the opening and the holder secures the Jewel box. A tab on the holder rests underneath an extension of the flap when the flap extends inward, perpendicular to the base. The flap/tab connection is strong and requires a screwdriver or coin to release.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 1994Date of Patent: May 14, 1996Inventors: W. Tyler Fitzsimmons, Anthony L. Gelardi

Patent number: 5509731Abstract: A storage device stores computer data cartridges in individual boxes. The storage device can store multiple boxes of computer cartridges. Preferably six boxes are stored in one case. The case has two side walls, a back, an upper wall, and a lower wall. A case with multiple inner dividers forms inner chambers for holding and separating one box from another. An ejector is associated with each of the chambers. Each ejector has an elongated and tilted floor member extending from the front of the ejector to the back of the case. The upward tilted position of the floor member holds the boxes against the upper wall and back of the case and therefore does not allow unintentional ejection of the boxes. Pushing the ejector downward forces the tilted floor member downward, sliding and ejecting the box outward under its own weight. A comb-like clamp and ejector assembly has rear grippers that grip a downward edge of the back. Fulcrums upwardly tilt forward cantilevered fingers which form the floors of the chambers.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 1993Date of Patent: April 23, 1996Assignee: Microplas, Inc.Inventors: Steven E. Patent number: 5199661Abstract: A reel spring including a wire having a flat central portion and two angled arms, each terminating in substantially planar pads, curved portions or pivot buttons. The flat central portion includes two spaced, open loops which receive corresponding projections formed on the cassette cover. The pads, curved portions or pivot buttons abut and bias the tape reel hubs downwardly when the cassette cover and base are mated. The methods of assembly include the steps of moving the loops against the projections until the corresponding projections are received by the loops and caulking or swaging the projections. The wire reel spring can be removed by merely moving the wire reel spring in the opposite direction.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 1991Date of Patent: April 6, 1993Assignee: Shape Inc.Inventors: Anthony L. Gelardi, Craig Lovecky, Alan Lowry, Richard Rolfe, W. Tyler Fitzsimmons

Patent number: 5169088Abstract: A short leg and coil of a torsion spring fit on a dust door polar member and a long leg having a first end connected to the coil and a second free end extends therefrom. An offset is formed between the first and second ends of the long leg and is received by a cassette cover and the free end engages a perpendicular projection formed on a dust door latch. In a second embodiment, a lower portion of the latch can flex relative to an upper portion, and a leaf spring is integrally formed to extend from the upper portion. The dust door polar member has a cam which cooperates with the leaf spring. In the first embodiment, when the latch is actuated by a pin the dust door is unlatched and rotated to the open position. When the pin is released, the long leg biases the latch back into a latched position and, simultaneously, the rest of the spring closes the door.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 1990Date of Patent: December 8, 1992Assignee: Shape, Inc.Inventors: Craig Lovecky, Alan Lowry, W.
