  • Publication number: 20210109921
Abstract: A non-transitory computer tangible medium containing instructions for securing a large data set within a Merkle Tree structure is disclosed in the present specification. The instructions include storing each data object of a large data set within a separate node of a Merkle Tree including within a root node, leaf nodes, and nodes interconnecting the root node to the leaf nodes. The nodes of the Merkle Tree may be blockchained together with multiple blockchains that all have an initial blockchain block based on the root node of the Merkle Tree and a final blockchain block based on one of the different leaf nodes. The Merkle Tree may have an order “O” that remains constant for each level of the Merkle B-Tree, or have an order “O” that varies for at least one level of the Merkle B-Tree from the remaining levels.

  • Patent number: 10977232
Abstract: A magnetic tape cartridge secured with a blockchain is disclosed. The magnetic tape cartridge includes a solid-state cartridge memory, a reel of magnetic tape containing data, and a blockchain having a series of blocks. Each block in the blockchain contains a hash digest based on a portion of the data stored on the reel of magnetic tape and data pointers that link that portion of data stored on the reel of magnetic tape to each respective block. The blockchain blocks are stored in the solid-state cartridge memory. The portion of data upon which the hash digest is based is not redundantly stored in the solid-state cartridge memory with the block. The portion of data may be a logical volume, a logical partition, or all data stored on the reel of magnetic tape. The magnetic tape cartridge may also include a table containing pages stored within the solid-state cartridge memory with one of the pages being allocated for containing the blockchain.

  • Patent number: 10969982
Abstract: A data deduplication process for storage based on collision resistant hash digests is disclosed. The process accesses a first data message from a data storage appliance and accesses a second data message from the data storage appliance. The process then compares the hash digests of the first and second data messages. If the hash digests match, the process determines if the first and second data messages are the same message or if there is a collision between the compared hash digests by forming additional hash digests based on the first and second data messages by hashing the first and second data messages differently. If this new set of hash digests do not result in a collision, then the first and second data messages are different. If this new set of hash digests result in a collision, the first and second data messages are the same message.

  • Publication number: 20210072928
Abstract: An archival blockchain system is disclosed that includes a cache-tier storage level where data is stored before it has met a first aging criteria, a disk-tier storage level where the data is migrated to and stored within archival blockchain blocks after it has met the first aging criteria. When the archival blockchain blocks containing the data meet a second aging criteria they are migrated to a tape-tier storage level where the disk-tier archival blockchain blocks are stored within another archival blockchain block stored on the tape-tier. This archival blockchain system also includes a blockchain appliance in digital data communication with the cache-tier, disk-tier, and tape-tier storage levels that maintains a ledger that stores data pointers to the data stored on the cache-tier, disk-tier, and tape-tier storage levels to logically link them into a contiguous data set.

  • Patent number: 10896171
Abstract: A non-transitory computer tangible medium is disclosed containing instructions for securing a large data set with a blockchained Merkle B-Tree. These instructions provide for accessing a large data set stored within a digital storage device, assigning each object of the large data set to a node of a Merkle B-Tree, and generating vertical blockchains that begin with a root node of the Merkle B-Tree and extend outward toward leaf nodes of the Merkle B-Tree based on data within each object. • Patent number: 10860259
Abstract: An archival blockchain system is disclosed that includes a cache-tier storage level where blockchain blocks for a contiguous blockchain are generated and stored before they have met a first aging criteria, a disk-tier storage level where the blockchain blocks are stored after they have met the first aging criteria, but before they have met a second aging criteria, and a tape-tier storage level where the blockchain blocks are stored after they have met the second aging criteria. • Publication number: 20200337225
Abstract: A system and method to distribute pesticides, fertilizers, water, and other materials on a farm with accuracy and precision is disclosed in order to combat the problems imposed on the environment due to over-fertilization and over use of pesticides. This system and method is a social networking control system in which multiple farms have independent grids of sensors capable of detecting the presence of pesticides, fertilizers, water, and other materials in the air, in the top-soil, and in the groundwater. These grids of sensors detect the location and concentration of these materials and reports them back to a social control system for analysis. The control system regulates the deposition of further chemicals through computer control of the chemical dispersal systems.

  • Patent number: 10708040
Abstract: A collision resistant blockchain network is disclosed that includes a network formed of a plurality of nodes and a collision resistant blockchain formed of a plurality of blocks redundantly stored across the nodes of the network. Each block of the collision resistant blockchain contains data. Each block also contains a forward blockchain hash digest formed from hashing the data front-to-back and a reverse blockchain hash digest formed from hashing the data back-to-front, whereby collisions that occur when two different sets of data are hashed front-to-back do not reoccur when those two different sets of data are also hashed back-to-front, thereby distinguishing the two different sets of data.

  • Publication number: 20200127842
Abstract: Digital media that has been blockchained into a blockchain file format may be stored into a secondary file format like a Material eXchange Format (MXF) digital file by deconstructing the blockchain file and storing its subcomponent blockchain data and blockchain hash digests for each block within separate structures of the MXF digital file by generating a table for the blockchain hash digests that links to the blockchain data through data pointers. These separate structures of the MXF digital file are the generic container for a media file and a SDTI-CP (Serial Data Transport Interface—Content Package) compatible system item.

Abstract: The present specification is directed toward the use of hash digests and blockchain technology to secure the integrity of a media file having Group-Of-Picture (GOP) video streams, audio streams, and data streams. For GOP video streams, the use of hash digests and blockchain technology may take the form of an H-Frame that appends a GOP of I, P, and B frames. For audio streams, the use of hash digests and blockchain technology may take the form of an AH-Frame that appends an audio block of information. For data streams, the use of hash digests and blockchain technology may take the form of a DH-Frame that appends a data block of information.
