Publication number: 20150253867Abstract: A keyboard device with a touch control function is provided. The keyboard device includes plural keys, plural first touch detectors, a second touch detector, and a controlling unit. The plural first touch detectors arranged in a row and located under a space key. The second touch detector is located under a neighboring key around the space key. If the space key and the neighboring key around the space key are sequentially touched by the user, the controlling unit sequentially receives plural first touch signal and a second touch signal. Consequently, the controlling unit issues a touch command to a computer host. Consequently, for generating the touch command, it is not necessary to change the customary gesture of the user of operating the keyboard device.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 10, 2014Publication date: September 10, 2015Inventors: CHENG-LIN LEE, CHEN-MING CHANG, TZU-CHIANG SHIH

Publication number: 20070242045Abstract: A roller function switching method is used between a mouse device and a computer system operated with a browser program. Firstly, the computer system is operated in a roller function switching mode. Then, the computer system controls the browser program to change a browsing page in response to a directional rolling signal generated by rotating the roller of the mouse device in a first function state. Afterward, the computer system controls the browser program to scroll the browsing page in response to the directional rolling signal generated by rotating the roller of the mouse device in a second function state. The roller function is switched between the first function state and the second function state in response to a function state switching signal generated by the operation of the mouse device.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 5, 2006Publication date: October 18, 2007Applicant: Primax Electronics Ltd.Inventors: Chih-Feng Chien, Tzu-Chiang Shih

Mouse interface converter for connecting mouse to computers with different types of connecting ports
Patent number: 6247075Abstract: A mouse interface converter is provided, which allows a mouse to be connectable to a computer system, such as a personal computer (PC), installed with either an RS-232 serial port or a PS/2 port. This mouse interface converter allows the mouse to be connected directly to PS/2 port and via an adapter to RS-232 serial port. The mouse interface converter includes a mode-detection circuit for detecting which type of port the mouse is currently being connected. The mode-detection circuit can generate a mode-indicating signal indicative of the type of the currently connected port, which is then used to set a control circuit to convert the mouse data to the corresponding format. The mouse interface converter further includes a driving circuit that allows the mouse to be more compatible with various signals of either the PS/2 port or the RS-232 serial port. This feature allows the mouse to be considerably reduced in power consumption that allows the mouse to be suitable for use on notebook computers.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 1998Date of Patent: June 12, 2001Assignee: Primax Electronics Ltd.Inventors: Han-Che Wang, Wen-Pin Chou, Tzu-Chiang Shih
