  • Patent number: 11547117
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a nano-coating platform that is designed to ‘capture’ and ‘kill’ (i.e. inactivate) virus species to prevent surface to surface contamination/transmission and thereby the spread of novel viruses. The platform is comprised of alternating layers of charged polymers (producing a multi-layer coating). The cationic layer may be grafted with oligomeric species, chosen to bind strongly to unique/specific virus surface features, thereby mediating capture of the virus (with the choice of oligomeric species allowing generalization to a given virus). Natural light (excitation) to UV (local emission) up-converting nanoparticles are seeded into the anionic layer and mediate the inactivation (‘killing’) of the bound virus species.

  • Patent number: 11175977
Abstract: A method, system, apparatus, and architecture are provided for detecting failure of a PCIe endpoint device by scanning an extended configuration space for each connected PCIe endpoint device to detect a first PCIe endpoint device that supports advance status reporting, and then by programming a first predetermined value and a second predetermined value, respectively, into an endpoint response register and a root complex request register of a dedicated memory control word in the extended configuration space for the first PCIe endpoint device, where the second predetermined value signals a request to the first PCIe endpoint device to update the endpoint response register of the dedicated memory control word with a new status value so that, after a minimum specified delay, a report that the first PCIe endpoint device has failed may be generated in response to detecting that the first predetermined value is stored in the endpoint response register.

  • Patent number: 10531132
Abstract: A channel stream is received and demultiplexed into a video packetized elementary stream (PES), audio packetized elementary stream (PES), and program clock reference (PCR). Indexing circuitry stores the video PES and the audio PES in a buffer, locates a presentation time stamp (PTS) in the video PES and stores that PTS in the buffer, locates a start of each group of pictures (GOP) in the video PES and stores those locations in the buffer, and locates a PTS in the audio PES and stores that PTS in the buffer. Control circuitry empties the buffer of an oldest GOP in the video PES if the PCR is greater than the PTS of a second oldest GOP stored in the buffer, and empties the buffer of each PES packet of the audio PES that has a PTS that is less than the PTS of the oldest GOP stored.

  • Patent number: 9189049
Abstract: Implementations of power management in a device are described. The device includes a power driver configured to manage power supply to one or more components in system-on-chip (SOC) hardware. The device further includes power subsystems configured as drivers for controlling the components of the SOC hardware and a user interface configured to receive a selected power mode as an input and identify profiles of one or more applications being executed in the device. Based on the selected power mode, the power driver directs the power subsystems to change a mode of operation of at least one component determined from the profiles of the one or more applications being executed.

  • Patent number: 7978686
Abstract: A system and method for feature-based service control using Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) in an Internet Protocol Automatic Branch Exchanges (IPABX) system is described. The system and method include a new Event package and new Enhanced SIP methods to control information for various feature-based services like wakeup alarm, call forwarding, voicemail configuration, and other services provided by traditional PBX systems. A user provides input to a client device to activate or deactivate feature-based services. In response, the client device sends a message to the IPABX server to activate or deactivate the feature-based service(s). The IPABX server then notifies the client device that the feature based-service(s) have been activated or deactivated.
