  • Patent number: 8122877
Abstract: Food preparation apparatus including a top cooking surface, or cooktop, a front wall, a clear see-through wall located on the front side and extending above the top surface, a suction device adapted to take in fumes/odors or gases being generated at and released from the cooktop, the suction device including a forward inclined intake grille arranged between the cooktop and the vertical wall, the clear see-through wall being curved backwards, with the lower portion thereof extending almost vertically and then gradually curving backwards. A chamber collecting the gases being taken in is arranged below the grille and debouches into a vertical suction conduit, to which there is associated an appropriate suction fan, entering a prismatic filtering chamber provided with a filter in the form of a filtering partition arranged between two opposite sides of the chamber and lying orthogonally to the rear wall of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7507939
Abstract: Apparatus for cooking food products on both sides thereof, including a base member (2) associated to a bottom heating surface (3) adapted to support food products to be cooked, an upper member (4) associated to a top heating surface (5) and joined in an articulated manner to the base member (2) so that, when the upper member (4) is displaced towards the base member (2), the top heating surface (5) comes to lie opposite to the bottom heating surface (3) so as to enclose the food products therebetween. The upper member (4) is adapted to close in onto the base member (2) so as to form a cooking cavity (6) containing the heating surfaces (3, 5), wherein the cooking cavity (6) defines a radiation shield capable of retaining the microwaves inside the cooking cavity (6) itself.

  • Publication number: 20090025571
Abstract: Cooking machine or deep-fat fryer comprising a vessel for holding a bath of water or frying oil, said vessel being formed by a cylindrical vertical wall or by at least a vertical planar wall, means for controllably heating said bath, a perforated basket adapted to be dipped into said vessel, wherein the heating means comprise at least an induction coil provided on the outside of a vertical wall of said vessel and oriented so that the axis of the electromagnetic flux generated by said coil is directed at the interior of said basket in a substantially horizontal direction, and an appropriate electric-frequency driver generator adapted to generate an electric voltage that is transmitted to said induction coil; said perforated basket is made of a ferromagnetic material. At least the portion of the wall that faces said induction coil is made of a heat-resistant and diamagnetic material, such as preferably glass-ceramics.

  • Publication number: 20040233491
Abstract: An optical scanning apparatus includes a radiation source that emits a radiation beam, a rotating first prism that deflects the emitted beam, a first lens that projects the deflected emitted beam onto a scene to be scanned, a second lens that receives a reflected beam arising as a reflection of the emitted beam from the scene and projects the reflected beam onto a rotating second prism, which deflects the reflected beam onto a photodetector. The first and second prisms are respectively rigidly mounted on or connected to a common rotatable drive axle, preferably on two opposite ends of the drive axle, which is preferably a rotor shaft of a drive motor. Thereby, the rotation of the two deflection prisms is positively and precisely synchronized, and the overall apparatus is compact, simple and robust. This apparatus is suitable for use in an optical distance radar system for a motor vehicle.
