  • Patent number: 6220176
Abstract: A travelling mechanism for travelling rail having flange parts and web parts. The mechanism including rest running wheels located opposite to each other which can rest on the flange parts. The flange sides of the rail guide rollers are arranged parallel to web rest in front of and behind each running wheel on both sides. The guide rollers, like the running wheels, are rotatably mounted in lateral bars connected below the travelling rail. The lateral bars are spaced from each other and connected to each other by a connecting traverse. To create a travelling mechanism that is adjustable, whereby the running wheels always run relatively close to the web, the travelling mechanism be adjustable to different flange widths by the use of connecting traverses of different lengths. The spacing between the axes of the guide rollers is variable independently of the running.

  • Patent number: 6153992
Abstract: A running gear for hoists and suspended loads has a running rail with two spaced-apart travel tracks that support axially spaced-apart running wheels. An electric motor is coupled to a self-locking worm gear for directly driving one of the running wheels. The running wheels are rotatably supported in a frame to which an assembly for hoisting suspended loads is secured. In order to prevent the running gear from rolling and pitching during braking, which can cause increased wear of the running gear and the running rail, a control unit is provided which is operatively connected to the electric motor and determines a start-up rate during the start-up phase of the motor from an average increase of the motor torque as a function of time, and decreases the motor torque as a function of time at a slower rate than the start-up rate for slowing down the running gear.

  • Patent number: 5809896
Abstract: A running gear, in particular for chain hoists, load carrying and/or trailing cable, which includes a running rail comprising flange parts and a web part. Running wheels which are located opposite one another are supported on the flange parts of the running rail and guide rollers which are arranged on both sides in front of and behind each running wheel are vertically supported on the web part of the running rail. The guide rollers are rotatably supported in lateral wheel carriers connected below the running rail, at least one of the wheel carriers having a load suspension device connected thereto. Trapezoidally-shaped guide grooves conduct the guide rollers as the running gear moves longitudinally along the rail. The guide rollers have rounded edges which contact only a portion of the guide groove. Thus, the running gear moves steadily along the rail while the pitching and swaying movements which typically accompany the pendulum-like movement of the load are not transferred to the running gear.
