  • Patent number: 8282893
Abstract: A test tape unit with a flexible carrier tape that can be wound forwardly by a tape drive is provided. The carrier tape includes a plurality of analytical test fields for the application of body fluid that are each applied in an associated tape section. Each tape section has a plurality of position markers for different functional positions that can be scanned by means of a tape sensor and can thereby be individually identified by measured quantity.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 11, 2011
Date of Patent: October 9, 2012
    Assignee: Roche Diagnostics Operations, Inc.
Inventors: Stefan Schosnig, Wolfgang Heck, Ulrich Porsch, Robert Lorenz, Ulrich Kehr, Andree Treinzen, Beda Steinacher, Stefan Sieber, Udo Manser, Karl Miltner
  • Patent number: 8262995
Abstract: The invention concerns a pluggable data transfer module and a method that can be used to transfer data from an analytical system to a data processing unit in a galvanically decoupled manner. This invention is particularly suitable for medical fields of application in which recently it has become more and more desirable to process analytical data of a patient.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 11, 2002
Date of Patent: September 11, 2012
    Assignee: Roche Diagnostics Operations, Inc.
Inventors: Udo Manser, Dieter Schaefer, Michael Schabbach, Peter Kuenstler

  • Patent number: 8031638
Abstract: The invention relates to the field of modular analytical systems. The invention enables the topology of a modular analytical system to be determined without requiring additional complicated measures such as a system reset. The method/system is also adapted to industry standards such that CAN-busses can be used.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: October 4, 2011
    Assignee: Roche Diagnostics Operations, Inc.
Inventors: Friedrich Ackermann, Guido Abel, Udo Manser, Michael Schabbach, Manfred Augstein
  • Patent number: 7975842
Abstract: The invention relates to a packaging system for medical consumables, in particular test elements. The packaging system comprises an outer packaging, which accommodates a first desiccant supply, and a magazine with an unused test element supply. In the closed state of the outer packaging, the first desiccant supply of the outer packaging acts on the interior of the magazine via a connection that permits water vapor diffusion. In exemplary embodiments, the magazine includes a second desiccant supply. The communication of water vapor between the magazine and outer package reduces the load on the desiccant supply in the magazine.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 19, 2006
Date of Patent: July 12, 2011
    Assignee: Roche Diagnostics Operations, Inc.
Inventors: Bruno Thoes, Udo Manser, Helmut Leininger
