  • Patent number: 7338248
Abstract: A battery changing system is provided to change the battery in an industrial truck, such as a fork lift truck, with a battery block that can be moved in the horizontal direction by a roller conveyor relative to a battery compartment of the industrial truck. The invention teaches that the battery in the industrial truck can be changed easily and economically by providing an external roller conveyor (5) that can be moved in the vertical direction. To change the battery, the roller conveyor (5) can be placed underneath a battery compartment (2) in the industrial truck that contains the battery (1) and then the roller conveyor (5) can be raised. A floor (7) of the battery compartment (2) of the industrial truck can be provided with at least one opening (8; 9) for receiving one or more rollers of the roller conveyor (5).

  • Patent number: 5931879
Abstract: A device for damping the motion sequences of two masses includes sensors for detecting relative motion between the two masses and absolute motion of one of the two masses. A signal processing circuit receiving output signals from the sensors has an output which is dependent on the frequency of the sensed signals. A controllable actuator receives the signal processing circuit output and is connected to the two masses.

  • Patent number: 5369582
Abstract: A system for changing the damping characteristics of shock absorbers, based on the signals (Xar'(t)) of the relative movements such as the spring deflection velocity, between the vehicle superstructure and wheels, additional signals (Xar"(t)), such as the spring deflection acceleration, are determined. The two signals are logical linked so that the control of a vehicle variable, such as the activation of adjustably designed shock absorbers, is carried out. This makes it possible to change the characteristic of the shock absorber in operating phases of low damping forces of the shock absorber. This feature optionally reduces noise at damping characteristic changes.

  • Patent number: 5267161
Abstract: A system for inferring actual wheel load fluctuation based on signals representing the relative movements between the wheel units and the vehicle body. Possible changes of the actual wheel load fluctuation are precalculated as a function of a possible change of the undercarriage characteristic, whereupon by scanning of certain criteria a determination is made as to whether a situation critical to road safety is given and whether in the case of a situation critical to the road safety the undercarriage characteristic is to be adjusted for minimization of the wheel load fluctuations.

  • Patent number: 5129490
Abstract: A shock absorber in which a damping force is to be adjusted separately for the tension and the compression directions in which the shock absorber is equipped with separate throttle valves, one for basic damping and one for supplementary damping. In the device, the adjustable parts of the two throttle valves are embodied in the form of magnetically controllable coaxial sheaths. This results in an especially space-saving design, the sheaths and magnetic coils which can be integrated directly into a piston (5) of the shock absorber. The device is used for damping relative motions of two masses, in particular in resilient wheel suspension systems in vehicles.

  • Patent number: 4877987
Abstract: The rotor is held on a shaft by means of a membrane providing an easy resilient deflection in axial direction and being stiff for torque transmission in azimuthal direction. The membrane is star-shaped, or has spiral arms or is of polygonal configuration. A membrane carrier is connected to a central part of the membrane or to polygon corner points; the rotor, through a sleeve extension of a short circuiting ring is connected to peripheral points of the membrane. The carrier is splined to or slip friction coupled to the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4852863
Abstract: A pneumatic suspension intended for motor vehicles that is equipped with an additional volume. An adjusting piston defining the additional volume separates two work chambers from one another, which can be disconnected from one another or made to communicate with one another via a connecting line and a valve assembly in the connecting line. When the work chambers are in communication, the spring rate of the suspension is variable without force.
