Patent number: 6250059Abstract: A handling system 1 for filament bobbins 4 or doffs 5 in a spinning mill, which has a spinning area 2 and a storage area 12. The handling system 1 has a transport device 16, a separating device 17 and a transfer station 11. The transport device 6 and the transfer station 11 have multi-column supports 7 for a plurality of doffs 5. The transfer station 11 is arranged between the transport device 6 and the separating device 17 and is located at the edge of or outside the spinning area 2. The separating device 17 is arranged in or at the storage area 12. As a result, the separation of the filament bobbins 4 is performed outside the spinning area 2.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 1999Date of Patent: June 26, 2001Assignee: Certus Maschinenbau GmbHInventor: Udo Teich

Patent number: 5520345Abstract: The present invention relates to a textile machine for producing/processing yarns, in which the empty tubes and full yarn packages are transported by a product transport system which includes a guideway for the product conveying devices, and a separate overhead rail which supports a tractor drive unit. The tractor drive unit may be coupled to either end of the product conveying devices by an elongate chain, which permits the product conveying devices to be moved onto and from said tracks which extend along an aisle along the front of the textile machine.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 1994Date of Patent: May 28, 1996Assignee: Barmag AGInventors: Udo Teich, Detlef Hammerschmidt

Patent number: 5504278Abstract: An apparatus for weighing full yarn packages which are supported on a transport unit which moves along a trackway in the textile plant. The weighing apparatus includes a weighing station which is positioned at a fixed location along the path of travel of the transport unit, and the weighing station temporarily supports the weight of each package on the transport unit and so as to permit the weight of each package to be sensed.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 1993Date of Patent: April 2, 1996Assignee: Barmag AGInventors: August L. Deters, Udo Teich, Frank Adenheuer, Martin Broich

Patent number: 5398801Abstract: A conveying apparatus for supporting an article such as a product carrier during its conveyance is disclosed. The conveying apparatus includes a transferring track segment and a receiving track segment which are positioned laterally side by side, and with the transferring track segment being progressively inclined from a horizontal orientation to a laterally tilted orientation, and with the receiving track segment being progressively inclined from a laterally tilted orientation to a horizontal orientation. As result, the article being conveyed is rotated about a longitudinal axis and transferred to the receiving track segment. The apparatus finds particular utility in a yarn spinning plant, wherein yarn packages may be conveyed in a horizontal orientation and then rotated to a vertical orientation to facilitate packaging.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 1992Date of Patent: March 21, 1995Assignee: Barmag AGInventors: Manfred Langen, Hans-Peter Schmitz, Udo Teich

Patent number: 5337967Abstract: A textile yarn spinning apparatus for the continuous production of a plurality of synthetic filament yarns is described, which comprises a plurality of winding machines arranged in rows along a service aisle, and a doffer adapted for movement in the service aisle from winding machine to winding machine. The doffer receives at each contacted and serviced winding machine full packages from the winding spindles and delivers the full packages to a transport carriage. In addition to the doffer, a back-up system is provided for manually removing full packages from the winding spindles, and which comprises an independent service carriage for loading the full packages, and an elevator for lifting the full packages so that they can be transferred to the mandrels on a transport carriage.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 1992Date of Patent: August 16, 1994Assignee: Barmag AGInventors: Udo Teich, Ludger A. Patent number: 4351494Abstract: A bobbin transport apparatus and method is provided which is adapted for use with a textile yarn processing machine having a plurality of yarn winding stations along at least one side thereof. The transport apparatus includes a movable carriage having a mandrel for receiving the full bobbins from the winding station of the processing machine, and quality control means for measuring a number of physical characteristics of each full bobbin received thereon. The quality control measurements may be performed concurrently with the transport of the bobbins to a remote creel, and the measurements are fed to a computer where an immediate determination is made as to whether the measured quality characteristics fall within accepted tolerance limits. The computer may also be employed to calculate additional quality control related characteristics, such as yarn denier and bobbin wind tightness, from the directly measured characteristics.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 1980Date of Patent: September 28, 1982Assignee: Barmag Barmer MaschinenfabrikInventors: Heinz Schippers, Gerd Munnekehoff, Udo Teich

Patent number: 4340187Abstract: A bobbin changing apparatus is provided which is adapted for use in association with a textile yarn processing machine having a plurality of winding stations, and wherein the apparatus comprises a thread operating carriage and a separate doffing carriage, which are mounted for independent movement on a common trackway. The thread operating carriage acts to sever and withdraw the advancing yarn during the bobbin changing operation, and upon an empty bobbin being mounted at the winding station, to then deliver the yarn to the automatic thread-up mechanism on the winding head of the machine. The doffing carriage includes a mandrel for receiving the full bobbins, and since the doffing carriage is independent of the thread operating carriage, the doffing carriage is free to immediately move from the winding station to deliver the full bobbin to a separate creel, or to perform a quality control analysis of the full bobbin.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 1980Date of Patent: July 20, 1982Assignee: Barmag Barmer MaschinenfabrikInventors: Heinz Schippers, Norbert Hufer, Gerd Munnekehoff, Udo Teich
