  • Patent number: 6729279
Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement for controlling at least one engine valve (25) of a combustion engine. The arrangement incorporates a hydraulic circuit with a pump (1), a control valve (2) which is designed to control a flow of medium in the circuit, and a power device (3) which is designed to move the engine valve (25) between open and closed positions. The pump (1) is designed to circulate a flow of medium continuously in at least part of the circuit during an operating state of the combustion engine, and the control valve (2) is designed to direct as necessary the flow of medium circulated by the pump (1) to the power device (3) so that the latter moves the motor valve (25) in a desired direction.

  • Patent number: 6502397
Abstract: A device for transferring EGR gasses from the exhaust collector of a supercharged internal combustion engine to its inlet conduit includes, besides a supercharge unit, a venturi device having the purpose of sucking the EGR gasses from the exhaust collector into the inlet conduit in order to overcome the high gas pressure in the pressurized charging air in this conduit. In order to adjust the amount of sucked-in EGR gas to the different load points, under which the engine works, an injector tube is arranged in the inlet section to the canal of the venturi device, through which injector tube the EGR gasses are led into the inlet conduit. The free end of this injector tube delimits, together with the surrounding canal wall, a ring-shaped passage, whose cross-sectional area may be varied by an axial relative motion between the injector tube and the venturi device.

  • Patent number: 6240891
Abstract: A cylinder head for a combustion engine of diesel type has an inlet duct (10) of so-called tangential type whose mouth leading into the combustion chamber (3) is controlled by a conventional mushroom valve (14). The valve cooperates with a valve seat (11) formed in a valve seat ring (12) which is arranged in a milled recess (13) which surrounds the mouth of the inlet duct (10). At a shoulder surface (19) formed by the milled recess (13) the valve seat ring (12) connects to the inlet duct (10) at a larger diameter than that exhibited by the inlet duct at the shoulder surface. The valve seat ring (12) further has, on its side facing radially inwards, an arcuate shape (20) on at least part of the valve seat ring (12) which defines the latter's throughflow area. This makes it possible for the inlet air leaving the inlet duct not to be subject to substantial disturbances of flow even if there is a certain lack of concentricity at the connection between the inlet duct (10) and the valve seat ring (12).

  • Patent number: 4341484
Abstract: In a hydraulically expandable friction coupling for connecting a shaft to a hub there are two concentrically arranged cylindrical sleeves between which a pressure medium is enclosed. The pressure of said pressure medium against the sleeves is adjustable by adjusting means in order to transmit a predetermined torque between the shaft and the hub. In order to ensure slipping between the outer sleeve and the hub when said predetermined torque is exceeded i.e. when the coupling is overloaded, the outer sleeve is formed with a greater wall thickness than the inner sleeve or at least one additional sleeve is fixed on the outside of the outer sleeve. The wall thickness of said additional sleeve is such that the combined wall thickness of the outer sleeve and the additional sleeve exceeds the wall thickness of the inner sleeve.
