  • Patent number: 6666250
Abstract: A device for pressing the adhesive-glued areas of continuously conveyed, flat objects, preferably the bottoms of flat-laying bags. The device includes two dual belt conveyors running parallel to each other and mounted in a rack, and whose conveyor belts pressed against each other form pressing belts. To be able to quickly and easily adjust the pressing belts to a different position of glued areas to be pressed, at least one dual belt conveyor is mounted on a support or frame that is guided cross-sliding in the rack.

  • Patent number: 6206262
Abstract: A separating device for severing perforated tube sections includes an advancing mechanism and a tearing mechanism which respectively include opposing rollers or cylinders which are situated on both sides of the tubular web to be separated and over which endless transport bands are guided. The rollers or cylinders of the tearing mechanism can be moved in the direction toward the tubular web by a control element. The opposing rollers or cylinders in the tearing mechanism are respectively situated in swivel arms that are arranged such that they swivel around swiveling axes that oppose one another in the transport direction of the tubular web and the swivel arms swivel apart in opposite directions.

  • Patent number: 6145564
Abstract: A welding cylinder, which is mounted in a frame, is provided with welding bars, which can be adjusted continuously in the radial direction, run parallel to the axis of rotation, and are distributed at uniform angular intervals over the circumference. One part of the welding cylinder's circumference is enveloped by a continuous pressure belt, whose loose side travels over guide rolls and rollers of a web storage. Between the guide rollers, bordering the pressure strand of the pressure belt, the web, to be provided with cross welds, runs up onto the welding cylinder and down from it. To adjust in a simple manner the guide rolls of the pressure belt to the different diameters of the welding cylinder, two swivelling and locking levers, whose free ends bear the guide rollers, over which the pressure belt runs up onto the welding cylinder and down from it, are mounted in the machine frame.

  • Patent number: 5871434
Abstract: A device for stiffening workpieces of paper includes elements that provide the workpieces with an undulated profile. The elements may be in the form of freely rotatable disks or belts that revolve around freely rotatable rollers. Respective sections of the disks or belts which come in contact with the workpieces extend through a common central plane in such a way that they provide the workpieces with an undulated profile. In order to prevent the profiling elements from laterally displacing the workpieces, a conveyor is provided which clamps the workpieces between respective conveyor sections.

  • Patent number: 5468325
Abstract: A process for applying an adhesive band with one adhesive side to the narrow rim of an elongated workpiece, particularly a coathanger of corrugated paper, includes the following steps: removing a workpiece from a magazine; sorting the workpieces into corresponding compartments of a compartmented disk carousel that rotates on an axis; forward cyclical rotation of the filled compartmented disk carousel, such that the workpieces placed in the compartments, which are positioned one on top of the other, are transported to other processing stations; at the next processing station, pressing the adhesive band, which has one adhesive side, onto the narrow rims of the flattened workpieces, which project from the compartments of the carousel; at another processing station, cutting the adhesive band and pressing it to the lateral profile of the narrow rim; at another processing station, folding and pressing the projecting edges of the adhesive band against the workpiece, and ejecting the fully processed workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4856396
Abstract: Apparatus for selectively forming a continuously moving web (5) with apertures or holes by means of a punching mechanism consisting of a rotating die (26) and a rotating punch (14) and with venting pinholes by means of a rotating needle bar (34) and a rotating abutment (13). The die (26) or punch (14) and the needle bar (34) are secured to a common shaft (28). The punch (14) or die (26) for cooperating with the die (26) or punch (14) on the common shaft (28) is secured to a first shaft (11) on the opposite side of the web (5). The abutment (13) for cooperating with the needle bar (34) is secured to a second shaft (12) disposed on the opposite side of the web (5). The first and second shafts (11, 12) are movably mounted in pivoted mounting arms (9, 10), which can be fixed in position. A rotation of the first and second shafts (11, 12) will either move the punch (14) or die (26) into engagement with the die (26) or punch (14) or will move the needle bar (31) into engagement with the abutment (13).

  • Patent number: 4590832
Abstract: In apparatus for applying a length of web severed from a supply reel to a flat workpiece, the web is advanced intermittently by a driven pair of rollers. A carrier which is secured to swing levers and provided with suckers suction-attracts a section severed from the web and swings it for depositing onto the flat workpiece. Between its receiving and depositing positions, the carrier is pivotable through an acute angle and a reciprocatable slide is provided which sweeps the web section over the sucker-equipped side of the carrier.

  • Patent number: 4493686
Abstract: In apparatus for pulling tube ends open to form base squares in the production of large cross-bottom sacks, table plates are disposed parallel to the plane of the pulled open bases and separated from another by a gap through which a tubular web is feedable in a plane substantially perpendicular to the table plates. Suckers at both sides of the web pull the edges of the web end apart. The suckers are secured to carriages which are movable in parallel guides from a position in which they are pushed together to the pulled open position of the base.
