    Abstract: A thermoplastic molding composition is disclosed containing a polycarbonate resin and(i) 0.1 to 10.0 percent of a polyalkylene oxide corresponding to formula (I) ##STR1## in which R represents H, C.sub.1-6 alkyl, tetrahydropyranyl or a silyl radical,R' represents H or C.sub.1-6 alkyl andx is an integer of 1 to 100, and(ii) 0.1 to 10 percent of an aromatic compound which contains at least one sulfonic acid ester substituent, said percent being relative to the weight of said polycarbonate. The composition which is resistant to the effects of gamma radiation is suitable for the preparation of sterilizable medical instruments.
