  • Patent number: 4538742
Abstract: In a plastic case for individual bottles or bottles in cardboard carriers, the bottles are positioned slightly spaced from one another in straight lines by columns projecting up from the bottom of the case. Except at ends of the case, the columns are arranged in pairs with the two columns of a pair spaced apart to receive the sides of bottle carriers between them. At the ends of the case, there are single columns spaced from the end walls to receive the sides of bottle carriers. Each column is of T-shape or Y-shape in cross section, formed of two sides joined in an acute angle. Each side is formed of two wall portions disposed at an obtuse angle to one another. At the three corners of each column there are rounded beads which engage cylindrical surfaces of the bottles to position them. On the side walls in line with rows of columns there are rounded beads on inwardly projecting ribs.

  • Patent number: 4269309
Abstract: A packaging for bottles comprises a plastic bottle case for receiving individual bottles or bottles in a carrier, e.g. a six pack. To prevent the bottles from bumping one another during transport, the case is provided with spacers which project up from the bottom. Each spacer comprises two angle profiles having flanks at 90.degree. to one another and arranged with the apices of the angle profiles facing one another. The flanks of the angle profiles are offset from one another and from imaginary center lines passing between the profiles. The two flanks of each profile are connected at their tops by an integral roof portion. The bottle carriers are made of cardboard with side walls and partitions. The bottoms of the carriers have openings to accommodate the spacers in the case. By reason of the offset of the profiles forming the spacers, the openings in the bottom of the carriers are spaced apart to provide bridge portions connecting bottle-supporting areas of the bottom with one another.

  • Patent number: 4181236
Abstract: A collapsible and stackable plastic transport case comprises first and second pairs of like side walls hingedly connected together and a bottom and cover each hingedly connected to the lower and upper edges respectively of one of the side walls. Each side wall of the first pair has one vertical edge hingedly connected with the adjacent vertical edge of the respective side wall of the second pair while at the other vertical edge it is provided with connecting portions which project inwardly a distance corresponding to the combined thickness of the side wall and the bottom are hingedly connected to the respective side wall of the second pair at a distance from the vertical edge corresponding to the projection of the connecting portions. The hinged connections comprise pivot pins on one member and U-shaped bearing eyes on the other member which snap over the pivot pins in assembling the case.
