  • Patent number: 4700535
Abstract: A windrower has a transverse support positioned at an angle to the travel direction of the apparatus and attached by a towing bar to a tractor and the like. The transverse support is provided with a plurality of crop-transfer drums, which are attached rotatably under the transverse support parallel to each other, and displaced from each other. At least one crop-transfer drum is swingable about its adjacent crop-transfer drum 180.degree. with respect to the axis of the adjacent crop-transfer drum in such a way that its axis retains its angle to the ground. Thus the crop-transfer drums have at least two configurations, in one of which all the crop-transfer drums are side-by-side with an equal spacing between adjacent drums of a width which is much smaller than the width of a crop-transfer drum, and in another in which there is at least one comparatively large gap between two adjacent crop-transfer drums substantially equal in width to the diameter of the crop-transfer drum.

  • Patent number: 4407115
Abstract: A haymaking machine of the type having a pair of raking wheels rotatable about generally upright axes in the same sense or in opposite senses depending upon the type of haymaking operation involved. In order to provide a resilient characteristic to the prongs which is the same in both senses of rotation, each prong is mounted swingably on a pivot member whose bolt is connected to one end of a stack of spring-steel strips forming a torsion spring. The latter extends through a tube fixed to the frame of the wheel and is anchored to this tube by another sleeve whose angular position relative to the tube can be adjusted.

  • Patent number: 4337613
Abstract: A haying machine has a frame on which is fixed an upright threaded spindle defining an upright axis. A nut is threaded on this spindle so that rotation of the nut on the spindle displaces it axially along the spindle. A rigid wheel support has one end fixed to the nut and another end defining a horizontal axis about which a wheel rotates. A spring assembly normally urges the wheel with the associated support nut into a predetermined angular position corresponding to straight-ahead travel of the haying machine on the spindle. In order to adjust the height of the wheel it is merely rotated in the appropriate direction about the spindle with its associated nut and support.

  • Patent number: 4078367
Abstract: A spring tine assembly for agricultural machines has prongs extending from a coil spring in a direction substantially perpendicular to the coil axis. An elastic retainer bridging the prongs or crop-engaging tines forms a passage for each of the prongs and is depressed thereagainst by clamping means, e.g. bolts. The assembly is useful for agricultural machines and, more particularly, for haymaking machines.
