    Abstract: A first hearing device is assigned to a first user and a second hearing device is assigned to another, second user. The first hearing device emits a first acoustic ID of a voice of the first user as a coupling request. The second hearing device receives the first acoustic ID and compares the first acoustic ID with a second acoustic ID. If the first acoustic ID matches the second acoustic ID the second hearing device emits a coupling acceptance so that the first hearing device is coupled with the second hearing device for exchanging data between these two hearing devices. There is also described a corresponding hearing device for carrying out the method.

    Abstract: A method for operating a network is specified. The network has a plurality of hearing devices assigned to different users. Each of the hearing devices has an interface and is connected via this interface to at least one of the other hearing devices for the exchange of data with this hearing device and the other hearing devices. The network can be divided into a plurality of subnets, which are then connected to each other by configuring one of the hearing devices as a gateway in each of the subnets for the exchange of data between hearing devices of different subnets. Each of the hearing devices is assigned to exactly one subnet and is dynamically assigned to another, existing subnet or to a new subnet in order to increase transmission quality during the data exchange. A hearing device for implementing the method is also specified.

    Abstract: A method for operating a hearing device is specified. The hearing device is assigned to a user and connected to other hearing devices, which are each assigned to another user, for data exchange in a common network. The hearing device or one of the other hearing devices controls the data exchange by subscribing to the network as a master, and wherein all other hearing devices subscribe to the network as a slave. It is decided whether the hearing device subscribes to the network as a master or as a slave by determining the operational capability of the hearing device and comparing it with the operational capability of the other hearing devices and by the hearing device acting as a master if the hearing device has the highest operational capability, and otherwise as a slave.

    Abstract: A hearing aid system includes a hearing aid with a rechargeable battery and a first data memory for storing operating data, and a charging station with a nonvolatile second data memory. The charging station charges the battery of the hearing aid at least intermittently while the hearing aid is arranged in a charging position. The hearing aid transmits operating data from the first data memory to the charging station when the hearing aid is arranged in a transmission position. The charging station stores operating data transmitted from the hearing aid in the second data memory, and the charging station transmits operating data stored in the second data memory to the hearing aid. A computer unit of the hearing aid adjusts at least one parameter relating to signal processing of the hearing aid based on the operating data transmitted from the charging station to the hearing aid.

    Abstract: A method operates a hearing device which performs active noise suppression for suppressing noise signals having one or more frequency components. An audiogram is provided which specifies a hearing threshold of a user of the hearing device as a function of frequency, wherein by using the audiogram it is determined which frequency components of the noise are audible to the user and which are not audible. The noise suppression is operated selectively by suppressing audible frequency components of the noise and by not suppressing inaudible frequency components of the noise. A corresponding hearing device is operated according to the method.

    Abstract: A method for operating a hearing device is specified. The hearing device has at least one microphone that picks up an input sound signal and converts it into an electrical input signal. The hearing device has a signal processing section that modifies the electrical input signal on the basis of an audiogram of a user and thereby generates a first electrical output signal. The hearing device has an active noise reduction system that generates a second electrical output signal in order to reject a noise component. The hearing device has a receiver that converts the first electrical output signal and the second electrical output signal into an output sound signal, for output to the user. The active noise reduction system is operated in parallel with the signal processing section. A corresponding hearing device is programmed to perform the method.

    Abstract: A method operates a hearing device in present surroundings such that noise cancellation of the hearing device is activated, so that ambient sounds are reduced for a user of the hearing device. A desired value for the voice volume of the user is determined for the present surroundings. An actual value for the voice volume of the user is measured. If the actual value is lower than the desired value, the hearing device takes a measure to prompt the user to speak more loudly. Additionally, a hearing device is configured to implement the method.
