  • Publication number: 20190002628
Abstract: The use of an amine of formula (I) as a component of a hardener for epoxy resins, hardeners for epoxy resins containing the amine of formula (I), and resultant epoxy resin compositions which can particularly be used as low-emission room-temperature-curing epoxy-resin coatings with high hardness and surface quality. The amine of formula (I) is low-odour and a very successful diluent for epoxy resin compositions. It is particularly obtained by reductive alkylation from 1,2-ethylenediamine or 1,2-propylenediamine and an aldehyde or ketone.

  • Publication number: 20180371148
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition comprising a first component containing at least one polyol, and a second component containing at least one polyisocyanate, the composition further comprising at least one aldimine of formula (I). The composition exhibits a long open time and fast curing without odor immissions, wherein a bubble-free, elastic material having a non-tacky surface and good strength, extensibility, elasticity and resistance is produced, which does not tend to problems arising with plasticizer migration.

  • Publication number: 20180346756
Abstract: A composition having at least one polyisocyanate and/or at least one isocyanate-group-containing polyurethane polymer and at least one latent hardener having aldimino group(s) of formula (I)—as an elastic adhesive, sealant or coating, which is applied on at least one plasticiser migration sensitive substrate and/or is provided with at least one covering layer and a composite obtained therefrom. The method is characterized in that porous material or stress-crackforming plastics can be used without restriction as substrates and very different materials can be used without restriction as covering layers, without the occurrence of damage associated with plasticiser migration from the composition, such as bleeding, discoloring, spotting, softening, swelling or detachment.

  • Publication number: 20180327549
Abstract: A conversion product which has at least one aliphatic amidine or guanidine group and at least one polysiloxane radical, and the use of the conversion product as a catalyst for cross-linking hardenable compositions, in particular based on polymers containing silane groups. The conversion product is largely odor-free, non-volatile, and of low toxicity. The conversion product accelerates the cross-linking of such compositions surprisingly well, does not impair the stability of such compositions in storage, and is very highly compatible, which means that such compositions do not tend toward separation or migration or evaporation of the catalyst.

  • Publication number: 20180327535
Abstract: Hydroxyaldimines of formula (I), their reaction products, in particular products of their reaction with polyisocyanates, and compositions including isocyanate groups and containing such reaction products. The hydroxyaldimine permits compositions which have good storage stability, a long open time, low odour, rapid, bubble-free curing and good mechanical properties, and which are not susceptible to plasticizer migration and have a particularly low content of monomeric diisocyanates. In particular, it permits reactive hot-melt adhesives with a particularly good workability.

  • Publication number: 20180319922
Abstract: A polyaldimine of the formula (I) with advantageous properties in use as latent hardener for compositions including isocyanate groups, and compositions containing the polyaldimine of the formula (I) and at least one polyisocyanate and/or at least one polyurethane polymer containing isocyanate groups. The polyaldimine of the formula (I) is odourless, pH-neutral, liquid at room temperature, has low viscosity, has little sensitivity to heat and moisture, and is stable in storage together with isocyanates. It can provide odourless single-component polyurethane compositions which have good stability in storage and which do not produce bubbles when hardened in the presence of moisture, and which cause no problematic odour emissions, giving a hardened elastic material with good mechanical properties and surprisingly little tendency towards plasticizer migration.

  • Patent number: 10100068
Abstract: A silane of the formula (I) containing at least one aliphatic amidine group- or guanidine group-containing alkoxy group, to a method for producing same, to conversion products thereof, and to the use thereof as a catalyst in curable compositions, in particular based on silane group-containing polymers. The silane of the formula (I) is largely odorless and non-volatile at room temperature. The silane accelerates the hydrolysis and condensation reaction of silane groups very effectively without impairing the storage stability of silane group-containing polymers. Additionally, the silane is very tolerable in silane group-containing compositions, whereby such compositions are not prone to separate, migrate, or evaporate the catalyst.

  • Publication number: 20180079710
Abstract: An amine of formula (I) which is particularly suitable for use as a curing agent for epoxy resins. The amine of formula (I) is devoid of non-incorporable toxic phenols, and is low-viscosity and pale in colour.
