Abstract: Three new HIV-1 isolates HIV-1 D747(ECACC V92082718), HIV-1 D757(ECACC V92082719) and HIV-1 D760(ECACC V92082720) are disclosed, which represent a further independent subtype of the HIV-1 family and have been recovered from Indian patients which at the time when the virus was isolated showed no typical AIDS symptoms. Also disclosed are vaccines against HIV-1 infections by this subtype and a process for producing the same, as well as the use of the HIV-1 infection, as well as for differential diagnosis.

Abstract: Vaccine for protection against HIV infections, therapeutic agents for treatment subsequent to HIV infections, process for their preparation and their use; procedure for differentiation between HIV-2.sub.ALT type infections and HIV-2 infections defined by the prototype HIV-2.sub.ROD.Subject matter of the present invention are the virus HIV-2.sub.D205 as well as HIV-2 variants distinguishing from the HIV-2 prototypes of the type HIV-2.sub.ROD in that nucleotide sequence homology is less than 77%. Further, proteins and nucleic acids of HIV-2.sub.D205 and its variants for utilization as vaccines for protection against HIV infections, for geno- or immunotherapy, for establishing an animal model, and for differential diagnostics are part of this invention. Furthermore, the processes for preparing these vaccines, immunotherapeutic and diagnostic agents as well as their use are part of this invention.

The mask comprises a thin frame generally formed to cross transversely over the bridge of the nose, below the eyes and across the cheeks of the user; a protective cover attached to the frame and extending freely therefrom to hang in front of the nose and mouth of the user; and attachment hooks for attaching the frame to the glasses.

Abstract: A toothbrush adapted for brushing the teeth of a person or an animal. The handle is cross-sectionally flattened, is S-shaped in orthogonal lateral planes, and is longitudinally twisted to provide an improved grip. The curved handle positions the head at a twisted angle which enables the user to introduce the brush into the mouth of a person, such as a child, or an animal from the side of the mouth. The curved handle also makes it easier to brush the lingual surfaces of the teeth.

Abstract: A toothbrush adapted to conform to the shape of the canine jaw and the teeth therein. The toothbrush includes a handle of suitable length to which are attached at least three rows of bristles, wherein a portion of the central row is shorter than the adjacent outer rows thereby defining an axial trough. The ends of the bristles for engaging the teeth define a contour having a peak adjacent to the end of the handle formed of at least one tuft of bristles from each row, a depression adjacent to the peak formed by at least the two outer rows of bristles, and a uniform slope increasing in height to the neck of the handle. The bristles are arranged in tightly clustered tufts which contribute to the stiffness and durability thereof. The shape of the brush promotes the simultaneous cleaning of the cuspid-type and molar-type teeth in the long narrow canine jaw.

Abstract: Method and composition are provided for the care of teeth and the reduction of dental treatment for carnivorous pets, particularly canines. A mildly abrasive, substantially neutral or mildly basic, meat flavored, particularly beef flavored, dentrifice is employed. The dentrifice is found to be acceptable to the animal, causes no harmful effects on ingestion, and greatly reduces the need of a veterinarian's scaling of the pet's teeth.
