    Abstract: The invention describes a web-like element (2;3) comprising an upper layer (5; 7) and a lower layer (6; 8) or an intermediate layer which are held apart from one another vertically by longitudinal ribs. At least the upper layer (5; 7) is formed from several strip-like webs (16-19; 20-24) with a rectangular cross section which run parallel to one another on the longitudinal ribs and lie with their flat sides in a common plane. The strip-like webs (16-19; 20-24) are arranged at right angles to the longitudinal axis or the longitudinal ribs and/or in longitudinal direction with equal spacing (14).
