  • Patent number: 11795585
Abstract: A device and a method for winding and twisting fibrous material in ring spinning and ring twisting frames are disclosed. The device and method allow the operating speed of the frames to be substantially increased, achieve higher productivity during ring spinning, and reduce the outlay, in terms of time and material, for assembling and servicing the device. This is achieved in that at least two high-temperature superconducting stators, together with the thermally connected cooling devices thereof, are arranged in a contactless manner and in parallel with one another along the progression of the spindle row, and the magnetic field-generating rotors, oriented coaxially with respect to the spindle, are introduced in a magnetically levitating manner in the magnetic field of the continuous intermediate space, between the stators which are adjacent in each case.

  • Patent number: 7048840
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for metal coating the surface of high temperature superconductors with a copper-oxygen base structure. The aim of the invention is to achieve a method as above, which requires a low production complexity, serves for the production of contacts with a low electrical and/or thermal transfer resistance and which increases the stability of the metallization. Said aim is achieved whereby copper is applied to give low-ohmic contacts, and the linked achievement of a stable metallization between the HTS and the electrical and/or thermal coupling. Further advantageous effects are achieved with the method whereby the copper is applied in the form of copper alloys, in particular as copper-nickel or copper-zinc alloys. On applying the method it is furthermore of advantage for the creation of fine grained surface coatings to overlay the galvanic cell with a permanent and/or alternating magnetic field.

  • Patent number: 6806604
Abstract: A centrifuge with a rotor set-up having at least one magnetic bearing is invented to operate a novel centrifuge. The rotor arrangement is connected with at least one permanent magnet configuration which is radially separated by small gap from a passive superconducting magnet stator. The permanent magnets which are adjusted in such a way that the escaping magnetic flux penetrates the adjacent surface of the passive superconducting magnet stator at a substantially perpendicular orientation. A driving motor unit, preferably in the form of a contactless induction engine, ensures a free and frictionless rotation. The passive superconducting magnet stator is comprised a melt textured superconducting YBCO material of high critical current density which can be cooled below its critical temperature of T=92 K using an integrated cryogenic unit to obtain the superconducting state. The stator has a preferred shape of a cylinder or hollow cylinder.
