Patent number: 10929366Abstract: Methods and systems for ingesting data stored in a relational database into a non-relational delimited column qualifier NoSQL database are provided. According to certain aspects, an ingestion server may receive a request to transform the data stored in the relational database into a delimited column qualifier format. The ingestion server may then identify and query a reference table that defines the delimited column qualifier format. In accordance with the reference table, the ingestion server may transform the data into the delimited column qualifier format. Subsequently, the ingestion server may store the transformed data in the delimited column qualifier NoSQL database. By storing data in the column qualifier database, fewer computer resources are used to store and access the same data that is stored in the relational database. Accordingly, all the transformed data is stored in a single delimited CQ row.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2017Date of Patent: February 23, 2021Assignee: STATE FARM MUTUAL AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE COMPANYInventors: Bruce Naffziger, V. Patent number: 10715598Abstract: Methods and systems for processing machine accelerated and augmented customer data using a Web-Scale Data Fabric (WSDF). According to embodiments, the data may be received as data transfer objects from a set of business operations client applications. The data transfer objects may be analyzed using complex event processing (CEP) and, based on the analyzing, rules specific to the business operations client application may be applied. The methods and systems may semantically classify text specific to the business operations client application. A federated database (FD) may archive the receive data transfer objects as well as analysis data specific to the business operations client application.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 2018Date of Patent: July 14, 2020Assignee: STATE FARM MUTUAL AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE COMPANYInventors: Alex Anton, Tim G. Sanidas, Jeff Perschall, Michael Bernico, Michael K. Cook, Lynn Calvo, V. Rao Kanneganti

Patent number: 8930581Abstract: Methods and systems for processing business operations transactions and associated augmented customer data using a Web-Scale Data Fabric (WSDF). According to embodiments, a plurality of computer servers are configured for economical large scale computation and data storage with resilience despite underpinning commodity hardware failure and grow-shrink capacity changes of nodes and associated interconnectivity. The servers communicate with direct attached storage (DAS) and include a co-processor coupled for computation capacity. The servers can connect to an external computer network (ECN) for external client input and output, as well as other functionalities such as physical-to-virtual network connectivity mapping and maintaining resilient storage of data received from the ECN or computationally derived from the received data.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2014Date of Patent: January 6, 2015Assignee: State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance CompanyInventors: Alex Anton, Tim G. Publication number: 20140278575Abstract: Methods and systems for processing data, such as insurance data, using a Web-Scale Data Fabric (WSDF). According to embodiments, a stream ingestion hardware component can ingest messages related to an actionable event and send data objects to an in-memory data store based on the messages. The in-memory data store can retrieve insurance policy information that may be applicable to the actionable event and store the insurance policy information in cache memory. A search-based application interfaces with the in-memory data store to search for and retrieve data associated with the insurance policy information, from which a user or administrator may process or otherwise access the information. The systems and methods can further initiate insurance claim processing as well as enrich the data using various techniques to enable real-time search.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 7, 2014Publication date: September 18, 2014Applicant: STATE FARM MUTUAL AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE COMPANYInventors: Alex Anton, Tim G.
