  • Publication number: 20190091346
Abstract: A photodegradable polymeric system is presented that can be employed to entrap and stabilize bioactive therapeutics such as proteins and vaccines from environmental stressors. This system would obviate the need for refrigeration and would decrease transportation and storage costs of temperature-sensitive therapeutics. By using a photosensitive release system, users can administer temperature-sensitive compounds at their discretion. This photodegradable system will also permit the potential to stabilize temperature-sensitive therapeutics in a liquid suspension, eliminating the need for reconstitution.

  • Patent number: 7496655
Abstract: The proposed system defines a predictive real-time Service Level Agreements (SLAs) monitoring system by (a) a detailed analysis of traffic flows with reduced monitor-data flow across network; and (b) a suitable combination of offline and real-time processing of historical and current traffic data. In order to be able to undertake a detailed analysis without significantly impacting the network throughput, the system analyzes the historical traffic patterns of a typical Provider's network to determine a set of critical SLAs. An in-depth analysis of traffic is performed by creating a unique network parent probe for every critical SLA and the parent probe spawns an optimal number of intelligent master and slave probes based on a regionalization procedure. The online overload monitoring system analyzes the gathered data from the master and slave probes to (a) forecast future violations of the SLA under consideration based on multiple forecast models and (b) generate operator SLA violation alarms.

  • Publication number: 20040010733
Abstract: A fault identification system consisting of multiple reasoning engines and the blackboard analyzes alarm information and the associated contextual information to identify faults. The contextual information associated with an alarm is derived by analyzing the alarm along four spaces, namely, transaction-space, function-space, execution-space, and signal-space. The reasoning engines associated with these spaces infer and/or validate the occurrences of faults. Transaction reasoning engine, using the associated knowledge repository, processes the generated alarms to infer and validate faults. Monitor reasoning engine, using the associated knowledge repository, processes domain specific monitor variables to infer faults. Execution reasoning engine, using the associated knowledge repository, processes execution specific monitor variables to infer and validate faults. Function reasoning engine, using the associated knowledge repository, reasons to infer and validate faults.

  • Publication number: 20030216927
Abstract: The proposed system defines an automated safe reprogramming of software radios. The essence of software radios is to enhance or alter the functionality of a mobile terminal by using software. This means that the required software is downloaded onto a mobile terminal on the fly to meet the critical and necessary needs of the user. Lot of caution needs to be exercised while downloading the necessary software components on the fly. The proposed invention automates the validation and verification of the downloaded component by suggesting (a) a means for the computation of signatures; (b) a means for defining multiple zones and verification of zone-specific signatures; (c) a means for periodic online verification of the downloaded components; and (d) a means for collecting the usage statistics of the downloaded components. The objective is to define the safeness of the downloaded component based on multiple signatures to be validated in different zones.

  • Publication number: 20030208754
Abstract: An advertisement system that provides subscribers with the most relevant advertisements based on their individual purchase prediction of the various products and contextual information such as location, ongoing public events, festivals and personal events. The system customizes the advertisements to suit the audiovisual, language, and textual caption preferences of the subscribers. System provides for tracking of various promotional offers made to the subscribers from the time the offer is made to the time it is redeemed by the subscriber. System consists of methods to learn (a) purchase predictions (b) preferred streaming schedule and (c) the subscriber's preferences in terms of audiovisual aspects of the advertisements. Purchase prediction for individual subscriber is derived from historical purchase data by time series analysis and the influence of events such as co-purchases of other products and organized events such as sales exhibitions and festivals is derived based on Bayesian network models.

  • Patent number: 6628184
Abstract: A field configurable contactor is disclosed. The contactor preferably includes a plurality of spaces adapted to receive any number, up to its limit, of contact modules. Each contact module preferably includes a pair of contacts and a spring biased cam follower which opens and closes the contact pair when a cam profile of the contactor moves according to energization or de-energization of the contactor. The contact module can be either “normally open” or “normally closed” depending on its initial placement onto the contactor relative to the cam profile. A latch assembly in the contactor may hold the contactor mechanically during de-energization.

  • Patent number: 6476698
Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment of the invention, a locking mechanism comprising a blocking member sized to fit within the elongated slot through which a circuit breaker handle extends is disclosed. The blocking member may be seated adjacent the circuit breaker handle within the elongated slot and may snap or otherwise be locked into place to prevent the circuit breaker handle from moving within the slot. Thus, if the blocking member is placed within the elongated slot when the circuit breaker handle is in an OFF position, then the circuit breaker handle will be locked in the OFF position. The blocking member can be converted for locking the circuit breaker handle in an ON position. Then, when the blocking member is placed within the elongated slot when the circuit breaker handle is in an ON position, then the circuit breaker handle will be locked in the ON position.

  • Publication number: 20020109570
Abstract: An electromagnetic contactor that provides accurate contactor status indication regardless of the contact position. The primary contacts are secured within reversible contact modules. A contact carrier first end provides accurate local contact position indication. Auxiliary contacts toggled by the operator provide accurate control system status indication. The operator includes a stem with two sets of abutments that cooperatively engage the contact carrier. A catch located at the contact carrier second end and an abutment lip attach if the moveable contacts are welded shut. The operator status is prevented from changing thus insuring the accuracy of the contact position feedback. The contact modules can be installed in the electromagnetic contactor without the use of tools.

  • Patent number: 6388213
Abstract: The invention relates to a locking device mounted directly on a circuit breaker and configured for mounting different locks. The locking device includes a yoke member, a slider member, a handle block and a lock. When the locking device is locked, the handle block abuts the operating handle in an engaged position corresponding to the operating handle in the ON or OFF position. Thus, the locking device locks the circuit breaker in the OFF position or the ON position. The locking device may further comprise a base member disposed between the yoke member and the housing. When it is desired to lock the circuit breaker in the on position, the base member is adapted to cover the push-to-trip button on the housing.

  • Publication number: 20010025773
Abstract: A draw-out arrangement for molded case circuit breakers is disclosed. A circuit breaker plug-in system generally comprises a plug-in base to which the draw-out mechanism is secured. The base includes a right plate and a left plate. A circuit breaker is movable between the right plate and the left plate and is retractably connected to the plug-in base by the action of the draw-out mechanism. The draw-out mechanism of the present invention includes a shaft connecting the right plate to the left plate which provides rigidity to the system and balances the circuit breaker during movement. When a crank is inserted into the draw out mechanism and used to rotate a lead screw connected therein, a rider positioned about the lead screw is prevented from rotating due to being sandwiched between a pair of plates. Movement is thereby translated into linear motion which is used to move the circuit breaker into or out of engagement with the plug-in base.
