  • Publication number: 20070277807
Abstract: A stovetop grill having a rotatable turbine to diffuse and spread heat that is carried by hot gases across a cooking area of a grill platform so that food on the platform will be evenly cooked. The turbine includes a disk body that is mounted for rotation around an axis established by a turbine shaft. A plurality of relatively short impeller blades are spaced from one another around the circumference of the turbine body. A plurality of relatively long propeller blades are spaced from one another around the turbine body at a location that is radially inward from the impeller blades. The impeller and propeller blades are punched or cut out and bent upwardly from the turbine body to establish gas passages therethrough. The turbine is adapted to rotate relative to the grill platform in response to the hot gases that are generated by a heat source (e.g.

  • Publication number: 20060090332
Abstract: A contactless conveyor system for the production of smart cards in which a series of smart card assembly workstations are located around a continuous, closed circuit track. Empty sheets are removed one at a time from a pull-out drawer at a sheet feeding station to be laid upon respective ones of a plurality of pallets. The pallets on which the empty sheets are laid are pushed around the track from one workstation to the next by motor-driven belts which move under the pallets. Finished sheets on which smart cards have been assembled are removed one at a time from the pallets to be stacked in a pull-out drawer at a sheet removal station. Each of the sheet feeding and sheet removal stations includes a frame on which an array of suction cups is mounted to generate a suction force for placing the empty sheets on and removing the finished sheets from successive ones of the pallets moving around the track.

  • Patent number: 6779348
Abstract: A compact, energy efficient blower that is controlled by a Peltier thermoelectric device to supply either hot or cold air. The Peltier device is sandwiched between a pair of heat exchangers that are surrounded by a plastic enclosure. Each heat exchanger includes a plurality of parallel aligned thermal energy conducting fins that are folded to maximize the surface area thereof. A fan is mounted atop the enclosure to pump a first supply of intake air through a first air flow path in a first heat exchanger at one side of the Peltier device to exhaust the waste energy emitted by the Peltier device and collected by the first heat exchanger. The fan also pumps a second supply of intake air through a second air flow path in the second heat exchanger at the opposite side of the Peltier device to blow the useful energy emitted by the Peltier device and collected by the second heat exchanger to an application device or a space within which the blower is located.

  • Patent number: 6626364
Abstract: A high speed system for embedding antenna wire within a non-conductive (e.g. plastic) sheet on which electronic chips are mounted for manufacturing a plurality of smart cards, or the like. The antenna wire is installed in the non-conductive sheet by an ultrasonic actuator that is moved up and down relative to the sheet. The movement of the actuator relative to the substrate is controlled by the interaction between a stationary voicecoil magnet and a voicecoil that is coupled to the ultrasonic actuator and moveable with the slide assembly. Antenna wire is fed to the ultrasonic actuator from an antenna wire dispensing spool via an idler assembly. The idler assembly includes an encoder which is responsive to an increase in tension in the antenna wire feed line. Depending upon the output of the encoder, the speed and rotation of the wire dispensing spool is controlled until the tension in the antenna wire feed line is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 6575229
Abstract: A heat exchanger core for a heat sink having a plurality of folded heat conductive fins. Each folded heat conducting fin has a front face, a back face spaced from the front face, a top connected between the front and back faces, open opposite sides that communicate with the atmosphere, and an air intake opening that extends vertically through the top for receipt of a supply of fan blown air. The fins are arranged face-to-face one another to establish laterally extending primary and supplemental air exhaust cavities through the heat exchanger core which run between the vertically extending air intake openings and the open opposite sides of the fins. Thus, the heat exchanger core will have non-linear air flow paths by which heat collected by the plurality of fins is blown into the atmosphere at the open opposite sides thereof. By virtue of the foregoing, the heat exchanger core provides maximum surface area, efficient heat transfer, and optimal air flow so that the heat generated by a source (e.g.
