  • Patent number: 4273224
Abstract: In a vehicle (12, 12a) having interlock means (39, 39a) for maintaining the vehicle transmission (16, 16a) in neutral if powered travel is attempted while the parking brake (29, 29a) is engaged, interlock control means (51, 51a) are provided for inactivating the interlock once the vehicle is undergoing powered travel. If it becomes necessary to use the parking brake to stop motion of the vehicle, the retarding action of the engine (13, 13a) is effective, through the still engaged transmission, to supplement such emergency use of the parking brake.

  • Patent number: 4262766
Abstract: A mounting support for releasably connecting a transaxle or differential housing (10) to a vehicle frame (12) has a support sleeve (13) telescopically connected to both a cylindrical portion (16) of a support member (14) connected to the frame (12) and a cylindrical protrusion (19) of the housing (10). Axial movement of the support sleeve (13) is selectively limited by a snap ring retainer (31) seated in an annular groove (24) in the annular protrusion (19). The support sleeve (13) is cylindrical so that only a minimal amount of clearance between it and adjacent components is required.

  • Patent number: 4156369
Abstract: A control linkage system is disclosed for simultaneous control of an engine throttle or governor and a hydrostatic transmission from a single control pedal, and includes unidirectional linkage means including a pair of triangular-shaped link members mounted for movement about a common axis and connected by links to a unidirectional output member or a throttle control member. The unidirectional linkage means includes a pin mounted on an arm which in turn is mounted on the common axis of the link members and connected by a link and lever arm to move with a rocking foot pedal. A second linkage means including a lost motion link is connected to the pedal and to a swash plate control member of the hydrostatic transmission.

  • Patent number: 4114738
Abstract: A control arrangement for a vehicle includes a brake control for applying the brakes of the vehicle and a combined brake and transmission control for controlling the transmission over a first range of movement and thereafter applying the brakes of the vehicle over a second range of movement. The arrangement includes a brake actuating linkage and first and second pedals mounted for pivotal movement about first and second axes, respectively. Lost motion linkage means including a rotatable shaft mounted for pivotal movement about a third axis radially offset from said first and second axes and extending between said first and second pedals is further provided for compactness of design.

  • Patent number: 4091889
Abstract: A combined creeper and safety control system for an industrial lift truck or the like includes a transmission override or creep control valve normally biased to a disabling position with means for selectively connecting the creeper control valve member to be operated by the operator and including a control system responsive to the presence of an operator on the vehicle seat for activating the control circuit whereby the control valve may be connected to the transmission creeper and disabling control member for thereby providing operator control of the transmission. The control system operates automatically upon the absence of the operator on the vehicle seat to automatically disengage the control member from the creeper valve thereby permitting the valve to be biased automatically to its disabling position.
