Abstract: An elastic spectacle frame comprises, on one side, a male charnier consisting of one end of a rod (12) solid with the middle part of a transverse connecting hinge pin (14), and a bearing surface (26) facing at least each portion of the pin protruding from the rod. The pin and the bearing surface being normally biased towards one another in the longitudinal direction of the rod by an elastic biasing mechanism (20,30,32), but are selectively movable apart from one another against the action of the elastic biasing mechanism. On the other side, the hinge comprises a female charnier (42,52) having eyelets (45,55) whose periphery, against which the surface comes to bear, is in the form of a cam, wherein at least one of the eyelets has a radial passageway (46,56), and wherein the interstice (49,59) between the eyelets is at least as big as the rod (12).
