  • Publication number: 20090042030
Abstract: The invention relates to a mineral wool which can dissolve in a physiological medium, comprising fibres having a chemical composition that contains the following constituents in the limits defined hereafter and expressed in percentage by weight, namely: 35 to 75 SiO2; 0 to 12 Al2O3; 0 to 30 CaO; 0 to 20 MgO; 0 to 20 Na2O; 0 to 10 K2O; 0 to 10 B2O3; 0 to 5 Fe2O3; and 0 to 3 P2O5, said mineral wool also comprising at least one phosphorus compound. The invention is characterised in that a phosphorus compound is a molecule in which the phosphorus atom(s) are bound to at least one carbon atom either directly or by means of an oxygen atom.

  • Patent number: 7399510
Abstract: A sandwich structure (2) comprising a core (20) and two facings (21, 22) between which the core is placed, the core (20) being formed from a mineral-fiber-based product (1) obtained by a process involving internal centrifugation combined with attenuation by a high-temperature gas stream, characterized in that the mineral fibers are crimped.

  • Patent number: 6536241
Abstract: At least two machines placed side by side, including a series of centrifuging wheels arranged in a cascaded manner and driven in rotation about axes all having substantially in a same direction. Two consecutive wheels rotate in opposite directions, and are simultaneously fed with material to be fiberized. The material is poured onto the first wheel, is accelerated, and is conveyed onto the second wheel, and then optionally onto following wheels, in order to be converted into fibers by centrifugal ejection, the fibers being picked up by a gas stream and collected by a gathering device. The main axes of two adjacent machines are positioned along a non-zero angle adjusted in order for two gas streams emitted by the two adjacent machines to meet and combine. Such machines may find application in the manufacture of products based on mineral fibers.
