  • Patent number: 4606398
Abstract: A method for electrohydroblasting of castings in a liquid medium with a view to removing core and molding sand, according to which castings are subjected to a series of electrohydraulic shocks and at the same time set in reciprocating motion. The reciprocating frequency of the castings and the length of their stroke are sufficient to produce a flow of liquid in the internal channels of the castings and thus remove core and molding sand therefrom. The method is carried out with the aid of an apparatus which comprises a casting-reciprocating mechanism interacting with an electrode-positioning mechanism so that the movement of the castings is synchronized with that of the electrode.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 2, 1984
Date of Patent: August 19, 1986
Inventors: Valery V. Prikhodko, Boris V. Kostyrkin, Pavel I. Tsarenko
  • Patent number: 4493961
Abstract: An apparatus for electroblasting trimming of castings, in which castings being trimmed are placed in a bath containing a working fluid, the bottom part of the bath narrowing and having a device for removing sludge which comprises a hydraulic elevator installed in the bottom part of the bath and communicating with a tank for settling solid fraction from the working fluid.

  • Patent number: 4238245
Abstract: An installation for electrohydroblasting of castings comprises a base, a bath placed on said base, a mechanism for feeding castings into the bath, an electrode, and a mechanism for introducting the electrode into the bath and a pulse current generator coupled electrically to the electrode. An insulated casing is mounted on the base over the bath. The insulated casing is built of a latticed framework whose openings are covered with slabs, each being formed with two metallic boxes, one inside the other, so that the ends of one box face a bottom of the other, box with a space formed between the bottoms, intended for a vibration-absorbing material to be fed thereto and with the metallic boxes being grounded.

  • Patent number: 4198995
Abstract: An apparatus for electrohydroblasting of castings comprises a base, a bath, a mechanism for feeding castings into the bath, having a movable platform mounted in vertical guides, and a loading device. The loading device comprises horizontal guides and a means for conveying castings along the horizontal guides. The horizontal guides have a section disposed above the bath and sections mounted on the base. In accordance with the invention, the section of the horizontal guides, disposed above the bath, is mounted on the movable platform of the mechanism for feeding castings into the bath.
