  • Patent number: 7467493
Abstract: The invention relates to a raising device for raising or opening a closure panel, in particular a rear flip glass, decklid, door or hood of a vehicle, after the closure panel has been unlocked. The raising device includes a raising lever moveably supported by a base frame, a spring having one part coupled to the raising lever for providing a raising force and securing means associated with the base frame for securing another part of the spring to secure the spring in different spring conditions, where each spring condition yields a different spring force and raising the force.

  • Publication number: 20050280265
Abstract: The invention relates to a locking device for locking a closure panel to a body of a vehicle. The locking device comprises a catch, a pawl and a release actuator, each of which being moveable between a locked position and an unlocked position. The locking device is in a locked state when the catch, the pawl and the release actuator are in their locked positions, and the locking device is in an intermediate unlocked state when the catch is in its locked position and the pawl and the release actuator are in their unlocked positions. The locking device further comprises coupling means which is arranged such that it couples the release actuator to the pawl when the locking device is in the locked or intermediate unlocked state and uncouples the release actuator from the pawl when, starting from the intermediate unlocked state, the catch has moved to its unlocked position.

  • Publication number: 20050156447
Abstract: A pop-up striker for raising a lid, like a decklid, hood or door, of a vehicle comprises a spring for providing a pop-up force, whereby a first end of the spring is attached to a base plate. The pop-up striker further comprises a pop-up lever, which is pivoted to the base plate, whereby the pop-up lever is engaged with a second end of the spring. A striker element is secured to the base plate to restrict a pivoting movement of the pop-up lever.

  • Patent number: 6098490
Abstract: A trunk lid has an externally operated key lock cylinder that operates a latch mechanism inside the trunk by a cable assembly. The key lock cylinder is connected to the cable assembly by a universal actuator assembly including a housing having a ferrule for attachment to a sheath of the cable assembly. The universal actuator assembly further includes an attachment sleeve that is attached to the key lock cylinder in a predetermined angular orientation. The attachment sleeve has one end disposed in the chamber of the housing, with the one end having a plurality of radial teeth that engage radial lugs in the housing to index the sleeve with respect to the housing in a selected angular orientation to reduce the length of the cable assembly that is required. A rotor rotatably disposed in the housing has a central drive aperture for being driven by the key lock cylinder and an eccentric connector aperture for driving the cable assembly.

  • Patent number: 5909918
Abstract: A deck lid may be released via rotation of a latch release shaft. A pinion gear is operably connected with the release shaft for rotating the release shaft. An electric motor has a gear meshing with the pinion gear and is energizable to rotate the pinion gear. An electrical switch is located inside the vehicle for energizing the electric motor. According to the invention, a blocking member is movably mounted on the latch and movable between a normal disengaged position, permitting rotation of the pinion gear by the motor, and a blocking position in which the blocking member engages the pinion gear to block rotation thereof by the electric motor. In a preferred embodiment, the blocking member is slidably mounted on the latch and the pinion gear has a toothed periphery with a cutout into which the blocking member is slid to block rotation of the pinion gear, thereby causing the motor to stall.
