  • Patent number: 4614157
Abstract: An all-plastic cartridge case is disclosed. The case is all-plastic polyethylene and has a hard-plastic rim and a soft-plastic glass-filled high density polyethylene basewad. The basewad is of a plastic similar to but stronger and tougher than that of the shotshell tube while the rim is of a hard plastic which is chemically dissimilar to the tube. The rim is mechanically locked to the tough basewad and the basewad is chemically bonded to the tube. Also disclosed is a two-step method for molding such a shell with a triple plastic head. Either the rim or the basewad is molded first and the other of the two is molded through the first.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4569288
Abstract: An all-plastic cartridge case is disclosed. The case is all-plastic and has a hard-plastic rim and a soft-plastic basewad. The basewad is of a plastic similar to that of the shotshell tube while the rim is of a plastic which is chemically dissimilar to the tube. The basewad and rim are mechanically interlocked. Also disclosed is a two-step method for molding such a shell with a dual plastic head. Either the rim or the basewad is molded first and the other of the two is molded through the first.

  • Patent number: 4465883
Abstract: A bullet lubricant is disclosed which includes a miscible amount of low molecular weight polyethylene polymer or ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers in a wax base. The lubricant has a melting point in excess of 180.degree. F. The lubricant is applied by first heating a bullet and the mix to a pre-determined temperature then coating the bullet and cooling the bullet to allow the lubricant to solidify.

  • Patent number: 4428295
Abstract: A high density shot made of a cold-compacted mixture of at least two metal powders, a first one of such powders more dense than lead and a second one of such being flowable under compaction to serve as a binder. The shot has an extended range as compared to conventional lead shot.
