Such systems and methods may include automatically using structural details of a building and a respective placement of each of the plurality of devices as identified in a site map file to generate a zone configuration subdividing into a plurality of zones a layout of the building documented in the site map file and generating a respective cause and effect logic file for each of the plurality of zones based on, respective specifications for each of the plurality of devices and the respective placement of each of the plurality of devices with respect to to each of the plurality of zones.
