    Abstract: A sock is protected against wear due to rubbing against a wearer's toes by a sleeve that is placed over the wearer's toes in order to be interposed between the wearer's toes and the inside of the sock. The sleeve fits inside the sock and covers only the wearer's toes so the protected sock is comfortable to wear.
