  • Patent number: 8755263
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and method for optimal estimation of the distortion caused by the transmission medium by means of the sequential emission of pairs of quadrature complementary sequences, estimating the frequency spectrum of a transmission channel allows obtaining information of considerable interest to analyze its characteristics or correcting the distortion effects introduced in a communication system. This invention describes a new method for extracting said characteristics generating a transmission preamble using complementary sequences, which allows upon reception identifying the distortion caused in each of the I/Q phases of a quadrature modulation system on the transmitted symbols, canceling the phase distortion effects caused by the medium and reducing the equalization of the channel to a single equalizing baseband filter identical for both I2/Q2 phases.

  • Patent number: 8369381
Abstract: The frequency spectrum of a transmitter system is spreaded in the transmitter (1) through the codification of information bits by means of sequence pairs of Golay complementary sequences. The spectrum is received in the receiver (2) and is subject to a filter, which is adapted to the features of such sequences enabling the detection of digital levels corresponding to the original transmitted information. If pairs of orthogonal sequences, A amplitudes for modulating data, and N-PSK modulation are used, it is possible to get a transmission speed (C) equal to: Where B is to the null-to-null spread bandwidth used in Hertz. It allows an improvement in quality as compared to other digital-communication systems, which use spread spectrum techniques and CDMA, obtaining a process gain independent of the transmission speed.

  • Publication number: 20100296557
Abstract: Encoding and decoding method and apparatus for reducing interference in simultaneous signal transmission systems and multiuser systems sharing the same or adjacent frequencies, reducing diaphony between them and increasing the capacity of communication networks. To encode in various bands, it uses the information from a conventional communication channel. This method makes it possible to obtain zero or very low MAI, by exploiting the orthogonality of families of complementary sequences. In reception, use is made of a filter array corresponding to the conjugate of each of the sequences convoluted by the same filter array in transmission so that the sum of the outputs thereof makes it possible to extract in reception the information from the user selected without interference from other users.

  • Patent number: 7627054
Abstract: A device and method for improving the signal to noise ratio by means of complementary sequences, consisting of the use of M complementary sets of sequences, understanding complementary as the sums of their autocorrelations, resulting in a Krönecker delta, the M value coinciding with the number of complementary sets of sequences which are orthogonal to one another, understanding by orthogonal that the sum of the cross-correlations of the complementary sequences of each set is zero.

  • Publication number: 20050245196
Abstract: A device and method for optimally estimating the transmission spectrum simultaneously modulates complementary sequences employing a signal transmitter, an encoder, a transmitter having a modulator; a convolver, an antenna, a receiver having a demodulator, and a decoder having an output filter. The device uses complementary sets of sequences, simultaneously transmitted to a physical means, the sum of autocorrelations of which corresponds to a Krönecker delta, allowing the extraction in reception of the spectral and temporal features of the means minimizing the effect of the noise.

  • Publication number: 20030179811
Abstract: The frequency spectrum of a transmission system is spread in the transmitter (I) by information bit encoding by means of Golay complementary sequence pairs. The spectrum is picked up in the receiver (2) and passed through a filter that is adapted to the characteristics of said frequencies enabling detection of digital levels corresponding to the transmitted original information. If &eegr; pairs of orthogonal sequences, A amplitudes for data modulation and N-PSK modulation are used, it is possible to obtain transmission speed (C) which equals formula (I), wherein B is the null-to-null bandwidth used in Hertz. This makes it possible to improve quality in comparison with other digital communication systems using spread-spectrum techniques and CDMA. A process gain independent of transmission speed is obtained.
