  • Patent number: 4856633
Abstract: A wheel hub assembly comprises a spindle including a shank having a first longitudinal spline, a threaded portion and a mount flange adapted for connection to a vehicle drive train. A cylindrical wheel hub adapted to mount a wheel is coaxial of and surrounds the spindle. Bearings are interposed between the spindle and wheel hub supportably and retainingly engaging the hub. A fastener upon the threaded portion retainingly engages the bearings, retaining the hub against endwise movement. A second spline upon the interior of the hub is spaced from the first spline, and a drive key having inner and outer longitudinal splines thereon is interlocked with the first and second splines respectively, whereby the spindle the hub rotate in unison. The key is adapted to transmit a drive torque from the spindle to the hub. On removal of the drive key, the hub is journaled upon the spindle for free rotation independently of the spindle.

  • Patent number: 4492539
Abstract: A gerotor pump or rotary fluid power transmission having a displacement control device for changing the volume of fluid delivered. The displacement control device operates by changing the eccentric position between the inner and outer rotors. The inlet and outlet ports of the pump are kept separate to maintain a unidirectional flow from the inlet to the outlet port across open mesh crossover zone. The closed mesh crossover zone is moved relative to the open mesh crossover zone and maintains separation between the inlet and outlet ports. As the eccentric position of the outer rotor relative to the inner rotor is changed, the volume of fluid transferred from the inlet port to the outlet port over the open mesh crossover zone is varied between a minimum and maximum amount. In one embodiment, the displacement control device is manually shifted.

  • Patent number: 4413960
Abstract: A control device for a positionable pump has a body with inner and outer diameters eccentric to each other mounted in the pump housing bore and is actuated by hydraulic pressure in one angular direction. An opposing spring force acts in the opposite direction for controlling the angular position of the body. A controlled member is nested in the inside diameter of the body and a power rotated control member is nested within and drivingly engages the controlled member and is eccentric thereto, being a pair of pumping elements. The pump elements being gerotor or vane type elements utilized to pump fluids and which depend upon the eccentric position of their relative components for a fixed delivery of fluids. The body is controlled in infinitely angular positions relative to the pump housing to regulate the eccentric position of such pumping elements and thereby controlling the volume output of said pump elements relative to the demand of the external system increasing and diminishing needs.
