  • Patent number: 4583368
Abstract: A hydraulic power system for operating a rotary-hydraulic motor includes a pair of hydraulic piston/cylinder assemblies each disposed in vertical disposition below a common water source and having cylinder heads interconnected by hydraulic delivery and supply conduits in a closed circuit including the motor which is operated by forward and reverse flow of liquid through the circuit effected by alternative rising and lowering of the respective pistons. The upper ends of the respective pistons are provided with water tanks which are filled from the water source and emptied into respective discharge tanks sequentially to provide the raising and lowering movements of the pistons. The system further includes various valve devices in the closed hydraulic circuit and in association with the water source and piston and discharge tanks for controlling the respective liquid flows in a manner providing the cyclical alternative reciprocation of the respective pistons.

  • Patent number: 4559838
Abstract: A scotch yoke connection between a piston rod and crankshaft comprises a free floating crank pin having a central portion of retangular cross section received directly between opposed internal bearing surfaces of the yoke, and end portions of circular cross section freely journalled in crankshaft flanges on opposite sides of the yoke. When the yoke is removed, the crank pin can be rotated to present a different pair of opposite surfaces to the bearing surfaces of the yoke thereby providing wear compensation. The bearing surfaces of the yoke may be defined by replaceable liner plates.

  • Patent number: 4539485
Abstract: A wave activated generator utilizes the principle of providing relative movement between a permanent magnet and a coil to induce an electrical current in the coil. The coil is situated in a static tube anchored to the sea bed by means of a ballast tank at the base of the tube and guy wires extending from the tube. A plunger with permanent magnets is mounted in the tube for vertical reciprocation of the plunger, the plunger projecting outwardly from the upper end of the tube and terminating in a hull-shaped float which rides the water surface and provides vertical reciprocation of the plunger responsive to wave motion in order to move the magnets relative to the coil and generate current in the coil.
