Abstract: The present invention refers to a composition comprising: a) a crosslinked hydrophilic polymer containing amino functional groups, and b) a swelling agent, wherein the crosslinked hydrophilic polymer a) is obtainable by reacting a hydrophilic polymer containing amino functional groups with a crosslinking agent which contains at least two epoxide functional groups. The invention also refers to a method for preparing said composition and uses thereof in medical applications.

Abstract: A mobility tool for the blind and visually impaired includes a rod and an earpiece. The earpiece is configured to position on an ear of a user so that a first speaker is positioned proximate to an ear canal of the ear. A sensing module is coupled to a lower end of the rod and is configured to detect a temperature hazard, a water hazard, and a traffic hazard. A navigation and communications module is coupled to an upper end of the rod and is operationally coupled to the sensing module and the earpiece. The navigation and communications module comprises a GPS transceiver that is configured to send and receive location coordinates. The sensing module is configured to detect a respective hazard along a route, positioning the first speaker to selectively broadcasting directions for the route and a warning of the respective hazard to the user.

Abstract: Disclosed are polymers that are poly(beta-amino ester)s (PBAEs) modified with at least one oligopeptide. The polymers may be used in any field where polymers have been found useful including (but not limited to) in medical fields, particularly in drug delivery. The polymers are particularly useful in delivering a polynucleotide such as DNA, RNA, and siRNA, a small molecule, or a protein. Also disclosed are compositions comprising said polymers and an active agent, methods of encapsulating an agent in a matrix of said polymers, and said polymers and compositions for use in medicine.

Abstract: A method for producing a receptacle, in particular a receptacle for a cosmetic product, includes injecting a material into a moulding cavity in an injection step. The moulding cavity is expanded during the injection step in such a way as to increase the thickness of a wall of the receptacle in a separation step. A receptacle is obtained using such a method and a device is used for implementing said method.
