  • Publication number: 20160089695
Abstract: Bondable fluorinated barrier coatings on oxidized metal surfaces. The barrier coatings include a perfluorinated silane having a C2-C30 alkyl chain with a reactive silicon end containing 1 to 3 leaving groups. The perfluorinated silane layer is covalently bonded to an underlying oxide layer and the outer surface is treated with an atmospheric-pressure plasma treatment. The resultant barrier coating exhibits corrosion resistance attributed to perfluorinated silanes but with enhanced bonding/adhesion properties.

  • Patent number: 8621993
Abstract: A safety actuator apparatus for a baling machine comprising an extension member coupled to a baling machine having at least one baling chamber, the extension member having at least one end extending outwardly from the baling machine and a support member comprising a safety actuated retention component that aligns with and is configured to contact and restrain the at least one end of the extension member. The apparatus further comprises a detection device for identifying the presence of an obstacle in a predetermined path or a trajectory of movement of at least one component of the baling machine and a communication device configured to send a signal from the detection device to the safety actuated retention component and engage the safety actuated retention component to restrain the movement of at least one component of the baling machine.

  • Publication number: 20070051612
Abstract: Process and equipment for the treatment of stillage generated by the tequila industry during distillation and mashing, which are intended to eliminate any contaminants contained in the stillage for the purpose of water recovery by water vapour. A novel heat exchanger and stillage evaporator which are used during the process in order to ensure that the vapour generated thereby includes 100% water vapour are also disclosed. The vapour can be re-used in the process line, thereby saving water and eliminating residual discharges to canals or rivers. The recovered solids can be used to produce sub-products having a high concentration of fibre, sugar, protein, as a mixture for livestock feed or biofertilizers, or to produce ethyl alcohol. The process does not require skilled labour and can be performed by general production personnel. The process requires a surface area of no more than 180 m2 and, complies with Official Mexican Standard NOM-OO1-ECOL-1996.
