  • Publication number: 20240126339
Abstract: A self-contained printing system includes a weatherproof housing defining an interior for containing the self-contained printing system components. A printer located within the weatherproof housing prints documents responsive to a print command. The printer is powered by a battery located within the weatherproof housing. A charging system charges the battery located within the weatherproof housing responsive a charging signal. At least one solar panel located on an exterior of the weatherproof housing provides the charging signal. Wireless communications circuitry enables the receipt of the print commands from an external device located outside of the weatherproof housing via a wireless communications link and communications with at least one remote server via the wireless communications link. A system processor monitors wireless communications link and generates status messages responsive thereto. At least one display located on the exterior of the weatherproof housing displays the status messages.

  • Patent number: 11363745
Abstract: Example embodiments described herein involve a structural support for shielding from electromagnetic interference between components in a display system and for discharging electrostatic charges. The display system may be implemented in an autonomous vehicle. A display system may include a screen, a printed circuit board (PCB), and a cast housing comprising a metal. At least the screen and the PCB may be grounded to the cast housing. The cast housing may shield at least the screen and the PCB from electromagnetic interference. A grounding cable may be connected to the cast housing via a self-tapping screw, the grounding cable extending to an electrical ground.

  • Publication number: 20060173974
Abstract: The invention is a media access system. A multipoint installation may create a connection system which permits client devices, such as wireless media playback devices, to connect to host devices in a partnered relationship which permits authorized access to selected media located on the host device, without a need to physically synchronize the partnered client devices. Playback of media content may be configured on a variety of devices where new media content may be offered for purchase. Furthermore, the system permits authorized storage of additional selected media on the host devices. A personalized music radio for receiving personalized music services is also described. Media accessed may be tracked and stored along with user preferences in a personalization engine.

  • Publication number: 20030154308
Abstract: The system and method herein involve use of a proxy to translate between compressed and uncompressed documents. The proxy uncompresses compressed documents from a client and forwards the uncompressed version to a specified server. The response from the server goes to the proxy which compresses the document from the server before communicating it to the client. The server can dynamically generate code space for the uncompressed server response to the client, if needed, and supply it to the proxy.

  • Publication number: 20030154286
Abstract: The system and method herein involve obscuring or encrypting a user identification (ID) for use in a plain text, unencrypted authentication scheme, such as Digest, Basic, or NTLM authentication. An exemplary embodiment of the system and method involves the creation of an obscured username that can be communicated over a unsecure communication channel, such as, a wireless communication channel, without disclosing identification information to third parties. One way in which the obscured username is created is by encrypting a plain text username. Both the obscured username and plain text username are stored at the client such that the obscured username is communicated over unsecure channels when the user enters the plain text username. Thus, the obscuring process is transparent to the user.
