  • Patent number: 5259223
Abstract: A kingpin security device is provided preferably having a semi-circular plate transverse to a flat base. The plate has a channel therein, also preferably being semi-circular in cross-section. The channel in the plate defines a shoulder thereabove. The dimensions of the channel and the shoulder are such as to form a close fit with the annular recess and annular lip found on a standard kingpin. Opposite the vertically extending plate, the base transitions to a longitudinally extending arm. At the distal end of the arm is a shield plate, disposed generally transverse and spaced apart from the base. After the kingpin security device is affixed to a kingpin, a standard padlock can be attached to this extending arm. The shackle of the padlock prevents disengagement of the kingpin from the kingpin security device. The shield plate prevents the padlock from slipping off the arm, as well as shielding it from vandals or intruders. The kingpin security device also includes a downwardly extending vertical flange.

  • Patent number: 5195339
Abstract: A security device for a trailer hitch or similar article which engages with an outwardly extending peripheral flange around the trailer hitch or similar article, and which includes an element which extends into a coupling opening in the trailer hitch or similar article, thus precluding removal of the security device from the trailer hitch or similar article. A padlock is utilized to deter unauthorized removal of the security device from the trailer hitch or similar article, and the security device includes means to protect the shackle of the padlock from unauthorized removal.

  • Patent number: 4791814
Abstract: A liquid leakage detection system for use in underground storage tanks includes at least two vertically-disposed tubular members mounted to be partially immersed in liquid in the tank. A valve selectively opens and closes the lower end of at least one of the tubular members and air-bleed valves are connected to the upper ends of at least two other of the tubular members. With the air-bleed valves closed, a differential pressure transducer is connected to sense the gas pressure in the tubular members. A control system selectively operates the valves so that the pressure transducer indicates changes in liquid levels within the tank caused by leakage.

  • Patent number: 4693673
Abstract: A ceiling fan having a plurality of fan blades which generate axial air flow and which include vane portions positioned angularly to the surface of the blades which direct air flow radially from the blades to increase the range of circulation of the air in a room, to establish a favorable pressure gradient for the axial flow, to increase the efficiency of the ceiling fan and to create a more desirable air flow distribution under the ceiling fan than do conventional ceiling fans.
