  • Patent number: 11296987
Abstract: A system to facilitate resolving traffic congestion in a network switching fabric is described. The system includes a processor and a machine readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to receive a notification from a virtual connect switch indicating that a congestion condition has been detected in remote direct memory access (RDMA) over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) data traffic flowing from a first end point to a second end point via a first of a plurality of paths between the first end point and the second end point, identify a second of the plurality of paths between the first end point and the second end point and modify the RoCE data traffic to flow from the first end point to the second end point via the second path.

  • Publication number: 20200244580
Abstract: A computing device includes a processor and a medium storing instructions executable to: detect a pause condition at a first port of a network switch, wherein the first port is included in a first path transmitting data between a first device and a second device, and wherein a first entry of a media access control (MAC) table of the network switch specifies an association between a MAC address of the second device and the first port; in response to a detection of the pause condition, determine a second path between the first device and the second device based on a network topology, wherein the second path includes a second port of the network switch; and directly modify the first entry of the MAC table to specify an association between the MAC address of the second device and the second port.

  • Publication number: 20180307474
Abstract: Examples disclosed herein relate to a plying a firmware update to a stacked network device. In an example, ports on a stacked network device that are used in a data path between an uplink device and a downlink device via the stacked network device may be identified. The stacked network device may be in a stacked configuration with a second network device. Each of the identified ports on the network device may be in respective link aggregation groups with respective ports on the second network device, LACP collecting flag for the ports on the stacked network device may be disabled. The egress traffic on the ports of the stacked network device may be drained. The data path may be disabled. A firmware update may be applied to the stacked network device.
