  • Patent number: 10651953
Abstract: A wireless communication device includes an antenna to receive a signal, a low noise amplifier, and circuitry that determines the power level of the signal. The circuitry also determines whether the signal includes a packet, and causes the low noise amplifier to amplify the signal when the signal includes a packet and the power level of the signal is below a threshold. The circuitry also causes the low noise amplifier to be bypassed when the signal does not include a packet, or the power level of the signal is above the predetermined threshold and the signal includes a packet.

  • Patent number: 8514927
Abstract: A block of N-bit symbols is compressed to reduce transfer bandwidth between two devices. A plurality of locations within the block of N-bit symbols is identified in which a same known N-bit symbol is to be located. The known symbol in each of the plurality of locations is replaced with a substitute 1-bit symbol having a first value. Each remaining symbol in the block of N-bit symbols is marked with a marker bit having a second value. The compressed block of marked N-bit symbols and substitute symbols is transmitted from one device to another device and then decompressed by replacing the substitute symbols with known symbols and removing the markers to restore the original block.

  • Patent number: 7965797
Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for generating a constant amplitude zero autocorrelation (CAZAC) sequence to be transmitted on a wireless communication channel between a user equipment and a base station within a cellular communication network includes iteratively calculating elements of the CAZAC sequence according to a CAZAC sequence formula until a number of iterations has reached a predetermined iteration value determined in accordance with a number of subcarriers associated with the channel; obtaining a value of particular elements of the CAZAC sequence from a table of stored values at predetermined reset iteration values in order to limit error propagation; and generating the reference signal based upon the elements of the CAZAC sequence. The CAZAC sequence formula is one of a Chu sequence, Frank-Zadoff sequence, Zadoff-Chu (ZC) sequence, and Generalized Chirp-Like (GCL) Sequence.

  • Publication number: 20080056117
Abstract: A method for defining a valid set of sub-channels {1, 2, . . . , K} for transmission between a user device and a base station, where each sub-channel “k” has sub-carrier spacing s[k]. Sub-carriers of each sub-channel are equi-spaced. That is, for each sub-channel “k”, the distance between consecutive sub-carriers is maintained at a fixed level s[k]. Different sub-channels can have different sub-carrier spacing s[k]. Sub-channels are non-overlapping. A resource tree is used to select a valid set of sub-channels from a set of possible tone spacing's that include sequence {M1, M2, . . . , MN} of not necessarily different positive integers.
