    Abstract: Devices and methods for performing a cervical laminoplasty procedure on a patient. An exemplary device includes a primary instrument having a proximal portion and a distal portion, a secondary instrument having a distal portion, and an implant plate assembly having an implant plate and an implant post. The distal portion of the primary instrument can be configured to engage the implant post of the implant plate assembly. A lateral side of the implant plate can engage a lateral portion of a lamina of a vertebra, and a medial side of the implant plate can engage a medial portion of a lamina of a vertebra. The implant plate can be bent and a corresponding adjustment in an angle between the lateral and medial portions of the lamina can be achieved.

    Abstract: A system of managing communications in a vehicle includes a telematics unit connected to the vehicle. The telematics unit is configured to execute a retransmission request protocol upon receipt of erroneous data. A command unit in communication with the telematics unit, the command unit having a processor and tangible, non-transitory memory on which instructions are recorded. The command unit is adapted to determine vehicle situational parameters at a beginning of a data communication cycle. The vehicle situational parameters including current location and navigation status of the vehicle. When a first retransmission according to the retransmission request protocol is detected, the vehicle situational parameters are updated. The command unit is adapted to determine a desirable value of a retransmission frequency for the retransmission request protocol based in part on the updated vehicle situational parameters. In one embodiment, the retransmission request protocol is Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ).

The connection request includes an identification of a particular storage unit which the client seeks to access for a data protection job. The particular storage unit is looked up in the stored information to identify a particular data protection appliance on which the particular storage unit currently resides. A list of multiple IP addresses through which the particular data protection appliance can be reached according to the stored information is returned to the client. The client, upon receipt of the list, selects an IP address from the list to attempt an initial connection to the particular data protection appliance.
