  • Publication number: 20200408765
Abstract: Antibodies, humanized antibodies, resurfaced antibodies, antibody fragments, derivatized antibodies, and conjugates of same with cytotoxic agents, which specifically bind to CD38, are capable of killing CD38+ cells by apoptosis, antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC), and/or complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC). Said antibodies and fragments thereof may be used in the treatment of tumors that express CD38 protein, such as multiple myeloma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, chronic myelogenous leukemia, acute myelogenous leukemia, or acute lymphocytic leukemia, or the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases such as systemic lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, erythematosus, and asthma. Said derivatized antibodies may be used in the diagnosis and imaging of tumors that express elevated levels of CD38.

  • Publication number: 20070183971
Abstract: Immunoconjugates comprising a targeting agent selectively targeting cell-surface expressed syndecan-1 and at least one effector molecule as well as in vitro and in vivo methods of using those immunocomjugates are disclosed. The effector molecule may have, in its native form, high non-selective cytotoxicity, but substantially no non-selective cytotoxicity when part of said immunoconjugate. Targeting agents include the antibody B-B4 as well as other agents that bind cell-surface expressed syndecan-1.

  • Patent number: 7202346
Abstract: The present invention relates to antibodies, antibody fragments, conjugates of antibodies and antibody fragments with cytotoxic agents, and hybridomas producing the antibodies and antibody fragments, where the antibodies and antibody fragments recognize extracellular epitopes of plasma membrane proteins that are not released into the extracellular fluid, and to methods for the detection, monitoring and treatment of malignancies such as breast cancer and ovarian cancer using the antibodies, antibody fragments and conjugates.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 3, 2003
Date of Patent: April 10, 2007
    Assignee: Immunogen Inc.

  • Publication number: 20060233814
Abstract: Methods of killing or inhibiting tumors comprising of heterogeneous or mixed cell populations is described. The killing or inhibition of tumors is achieved by selectively targeting a unique ligand suspected of being expressed on a particular cell population to also kill a cell population lacking the unique ligand. These conjugates have therapeutic use as they are delivered to a specific cell population to kill these cells and the cytotoxic drug is released to kill non-targeted cells, thereby eliminating the tumor.
