  • Patent number: 4084484
Abstract: According to the present invention the radial feed mechanism comprises a hydraulic cylinder on the rod of which is rigidly fixed a holder connected with the housing of the radial feed mechanism by springs which ensure the cutting force of the cutting tool. At one end the springs bear against the housing of the radial feed mechanism while at the other end they bear against the holder rotated by a drive mounted on the tool head body and the shaft of said drive is rigidly connected with the housing of the radial feed mechanism. The housing of the radial feed mechanism carries a slide valve whose rod interacts with the profiled surface of a master form rigidly fixed on the tool head body. The holder is provided with rollers for tracing the internal surface of the welded pipe. The advantage of the device according to the present invention resides in that it ensures removal of flesh regardless of its temperature.

  • Patent number: 4076973
Abstract: A welding apparatus employing a self-contained pumping accumulator plant hydraulically associated with a hydraulic ram of a moving clamp transfer gear for gripping pipes being welded. The apparatus employs a device for decreasing the pressure in the hydraulic ram and in a pilot valve during flashing and for increasing pressure during upsetting. The apparatus also employs a a low-pressure high-capacity pump with a filter, a relief valve, a nonreturn valve and an unloading slide valve, two high-pressure low-capacity pumps and a device for cutting the pumps and the unloading slide valve in and out. The pumping accumulator plant and the high-pressure pumps communicate with a main oil plant; a hydraulic control of the slide valves of the clamp hydraulic drives is connected to the pumping accumulator plant. The pilot valve is controlled by a welding process program control actuator.

  • Patent number: 4061078
Abstract: A device for removing external circular fins from pipe joints comprising a base, a hollow rotor with a faceplate mounted in the base, carriages located on the rotor faceplate, a mechanism for radial traverse of the carriages, having a holder rotatably fitted on the rotor, and a drive for the rotor and the mechanism for traversing the carriages. Each of the carriages is provided with a roller adapted to trace over the surface of the pipes being treated, while the mechanism for radial traverse of the carriages is composed of links with one of their ends articulated to the holder and with the other end to slide blocks, each of which is housed in a bore in the respective carriage with the possibility of radial movement therein and is connected to a spring gauged for the cutting force, the other end of which spring thrusts against the bottom of the carriage bore.

  • Patent number: 4012619
Abstract: The machine disclosed is provided with a manipulator which aligns and moves pipes in course of welding and incorporates a hollow rod for the movement of the manipulator relatively to the pipe joints. The rod is immovably attached to the body of the manipulator and is provided with a partition subdividing the rod bore into two spaces. One of the spaces is intended to be filled with a working fluid and the other accommodates on the partition a hydraulic system for feeding and controlling both actuators of pipeholding clamps and a means for moving the pipes in the course of welding, the means comprising hydraulic cylinders whose bodies are immovably attached to the body of a movable aligning unit between hydraulic cylinders which are mounted on the unit to actuate the clamps holding fast one of the pipes being welded whereas piston rods of the hydraulic cylinders that move the pipes are immovably attached to the body of the manipulator insulated electrically from an immovable aligning unit.
