  • Patent number: 11984943
Abstract: A device implementing a system for NFC communication includes a processor configured to receive, from an other device, pulse signals for detecting proximity of the device with the other device. The processor is further configured to determine an interval at which the pulse signals are received from the other device. The processor is further configured to determine a time when the other device is expected to transmit a subsequent pulse signal based at least in part on the determined interval. The processor is further configured to transmit a signal to the other device based on the determined time when the other device is expected to transmit the subsequent pulse signal.

  • Patent number: 11949466
Abstract: Wearable electronic devices, such as smart watches, can be provided with a band for securing the device to a wearer. The device and the band can include near-field communications (NFC) components that allow the device to uniquely identify the band. Device operations such as the color, theme, or content displayed on the device can be based, in part, on the identification of a particular band. The band may include a miniature NFC tag in an attachment portion of the band that is configured to be received in a recess in a housing of the device. An NFC module for reading the NFC tag can be provided within the recess of the housing, so that the attachment portion of the band and the recess in the device housing position and align the NFC tag with the NFC module when the band is attached to the device.

  • Publication number: 20230108614
Abstract: A user device including near-field communication (NFC) circuitry may receive a polling message from an NFC terminal. The user device may obtain information based at least in part on the polling message. The user device may determine a characteristic of the NFC terminal based at least in part on the information. The characteristic may be indicative of a radio frequency (RF) field strength of the NFC terminal. The user device may adjust an RF setting of the NFC circuitry based at least in part on the characteristic. The RF setting may correspond to an RF sensitivity of the NFC circuitry.

  • Publication number: 20220383005
Abstract: A device implementing a system for NFC communication with a second device includes an antenna and a processor configured to transmit a pulse signal for detection of another device within proximity of the device, and to detect, in conjunction with transmission of the pulse signal, that a first value of a measurement parameter of the antenna satisfies an initial detection factor. The processor is further configured, in response to the detection, to set a confirmation detection factor for the measurement parameter of the antenna based at least in part on the first value of the measurement parameter of the antenna, to transmit a confirmation pulse signal, and to initiate a second polling for reception of data from the other device when a second value of the measurement parameter of the antenna detected in conjunction with transmission of the confirmation pulse signal satisfies the confirmation detection factor.

  • Patent number: 11030609
Abstract: A device implementing a system for preventing duplicate wireless transactions includes a wireless communication controller that is configured to receive a signal for conducting a wireless transaction with a wireless transaction terminal. The wireless communication controller is further configured to determine whether a transaction type of the wireless transaction is associated with a signal strength threshold. The wireless communication controller is further configured to measure a signal strength associated with the wireless transaction upon determining that the transaction type of the wireless transaction is associated with the signal strength threshold. The wireless communication controller is further configured to prevent the wireless transaction from completing when the transaction type of the wireless transaction is associated with the signal strength threshold and the measured signal strength fails to satisfy the signal strength threshold, otherwise allow the wireless transaction to complete.

  • Publication number: 20130231856
Abstract: A method for the fast localization of objects (e.g. vehicles) moving toward a target object in a space illuminated by means of radio beacons, through which the current GPS coordinates of the moving object and the target object are known, and the moving object receives a work order from a stationary server device and a business application loaded therein, at least to the extent that it is to move toward the position of the target object given in the work order, wherein a measurement of the distance from the object being driven to the radio beacons is carried out, and that a comparison between the transmitted position data of the target object and the current actual position of the object being driven is carried out in the object being driven until the difference (between the actual value and the target value) has fallen below a certain threshold value.
