  • Patent number: 7704435
Abstract: An assembly, for stripping a medium from a mold cavity according to one embodiment of the present invention, may include a stripper shoe, a head structure, and a plunger component attaching the stripper shoe to the head structure. The plunger component may have an elongated body, a first portion with a first end, and a second portion with a second end. The second portion may be substantially perpendicular to the first portion and have an opening configured to facilitate fastening the stripper shoe to the second portion of the plunger component.

  • Patent number: 7575700
Abstract: An embodiment generally relates to a guidance system for aligning a tamperhead and a mold in the production of concrete products. The guidance assembly includes an alignment element mounted on the tamperhead and a bushing configured on a flange of the mold. The alignment element is configured to engage with the bushing in response to movement of the tamperhead towards the mold, bringing the plungers and stripper shoes of the tamperhead into alignment with the mold cavities in the mold.

  • Patent number: 7491053
Abstract: The present invention relates to a tamperhead structure including metal and/or non-metal components. The structure may include a top plate and a bottom plate separated by a plurality of spacers. The head structure may also include a plurality of plungers attached to the bottom plate and a stripper shoe attached to each of the plurality of plungers. Each of the components of the tamperhead structure may be fabricated from metal material, non-metal material or a combination of both metal and non-metal materials.

  • Patent number: 7291306
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention includes an assembly for stripping a medium from a mold cavity. The assembly may include at least one stripper shoe, a head structure, and a flexible plunger connecting the head structure and the at least one stripper shoe. The flexible plunger may include cutouts or openings along the length of the plunger to induce increased flexibility. The flexible plunger may include a first bending stiffness at one end of the plunger and a second bending stiffness the opposite end of the plunger. The cutouts may be configured such that the second bending stiffness is substantially less than the first bending stiffness. By increasing the flexibility of the plungers, the usable life of the assembly may be prolonged while maintaining product quality.

  • Publication number: 20070009628
Abstract: The present invention generally pertains to a locking pin system for installing a tamperhead into production machinery. The system may include at least one locking pin having a retaining groove which is mounted on the tamperhead. The system allows the tamperhead to move relative to the production machinery until the pin is locked with respect to the production machinery. The production machinery includes an opening which may be configured to receive the locking pin. During use, the pin may be inserted into the opening in the production machinery and the tamperhead may be moved into alignment. Once the tamperhead is aligned, the pin may be locked to prevent further movement of the tamperhead.
